Heavy rainfall, tropical storm conditions and storm surge are possible for the Tampa Bay region from what's expected to be named Tropical Storm Debby this weekend, according to the National Hurricane Center.

A tropical storm warning is in effect for the entire Tampa Bay region.

The disturbance strengthened into Tropical Depression 4 Friday night off the south coast of Cuba and is expected to become a tropical storm over the southeastern Gulf of Mexico sometime on Saturday, forecasters said.
