I have a 2007 Magnum 3.5L
There is a steel bracket connected to the top of the alternator which is not on the car shown in the video. It completely blocks access to the electrical wiring, and makes it way more difficult to remove than shown here. Also, the top 15mm bolt is seized in and not budging. An open ended wrench or small socket is all I can get in there, and right now, I'm S.O.L.

I started to re-install the new Alternator. Very difficult to pass it up from the bottom past a metal brake line and a rubber hose. Not able to hold it up with one hand and get a bottom bolt started. Tied a small rope to it and had my wife hold up so I could turn it properly to get both bottom bolts in. Gonna finish it tomorrow. Today, I was able to complete the repair. Total re-install time was 3 hours. This included an oil change. You may as well change the oil while you have the bottom engine cover removed. So for an experienced car DIY'er like myself, bank on 6 hours for a complete change out for the alternator.

My 07 Magnum has a bracket at the top bolt, which connects to the engine block. It is a huge PITA to loosen and tighten the long bolt. Looks like this engine has the bracket removed.

I don't suppose you can tell me what you used to break the bottom bolts free.

This video poster said this is one one of the easiest & simplest alternators to change out. Hogwash!!! I have changed many alternators in 30 years. It took me 4 hours to remove. The three bolts were VERY TIGHT and VERY DIFFICULT to remove. The 13mm nut holding the 12V wire on was extremely corroded and difficult to remove. The electric plug was very tight and required a screw driver to help pry it off. Luckily it did not break. And I also had to remove a steel bracket that was not shown in this video, because I think it had not been re-installed after a previous alternator replacement. The bracket has to come off so you can access the wiring that must be disconnected from the alternator. Heading to NAPA now to pick up a new alternator. Will install it tomorrow.

I have a bar in the way but no other cars have I seen with this bar connected to the engine and the alternator. Is it even needed because it seems to make the swap more difficult

Guy at the CANT do it yourself junk yard gave me an alternator that doesn't have the same connector. Said it's for the same car but clearly not.
