Yuki Tsunoda's sudden call-up to Red Bull Racing sets the stage for an electrifying Formula 1 storyline ahead of the Japanese Grand Prix. But beneath the surface, Red Bull's internal struggles have come to light, revealing their heavy reliance on Max Verstappen and concerns about the future of their second driver's seat. Experts like Bernie Collins suggest Red Bull could drastically fall in performance without Verstappen, sparking questions around team strategy, driver dependencyand internal decision-making.

With Verstappen's loyalty wavering amid performance dips and uncertainties around Red Bull’s future partnership with Ford, Yuki Tsunoda emerges as a crucial playernot only in securing championship points but also as a teammate capable of stabilizing team dynamics. Praised for his newfound maturity and confidence, Tsunoda now has the golden chance to secure a long-term seat by delivering consistent results and proving Red Bull is more than a one-driver outfit. Can Yuki step up and reshape Red Bull's narrative, or will the pressure of expectation prove overwhelming?

People be forgetting Yuki was shuffled over to Europe as a KID and ALONE, he did not have any family and friends with him for support and guidance!

The dude was learning English and mannerisms from his garage mechanics.

He was pure raw undeveloped talent, it wasn't until he got to Alpha Tauri that Franz Tost literally took him under his wing and gave him a daily routine and schedule. They hooked him up with Taka in MotoGP just to talk with someone, had Albon mentor him, got him a trainer, then he picked up that sports psychologist.

My guy went through trials, and I am extremely happy to see how much he's grown for the better.

About the only thing I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is that they obviously don't respect Yuki at all and treat him only well enough to satisfy a contract. Horner said that nobody should stay at the support team for 5 years, and marko literally compared him to a bridesmaid. It's beyond disrespect. They are actively & publicly insulting him, gaslighting him, and then tossing him out in front of his home crowd to watch him drown. Pathetic doesn't even scratch the surface. Yuki didn't even have a choice to be promoted or not. I hope he manages to shut their mouths for one brief glorious moment.

I like how optimistic yuki is being, but that car needs to be fixed in order for him to really succeed and win.

I will lose my mind if Yuki can pull off a podium in Japan this weekend. GO YUKI, GO!

Never been an RB fan, never been a Max fan, never been a Horner fan, never been a Helmut fan, but I'm definitely rooting for Yuki! Give it your best Tsunoda!

Tsunoda being dismissed by a history of anger management issues? Apparently, Red Bull forgot that Verstappen had a similar record at one point.

I never bought into Yuki having personality issues. He sometimes got nutty while competing against teammates, but he was driving to prove himself in a high pressure system. Gunning for that RBR seat. He's either going to be an easy #2 to Max and have no reason to go crazy, or he'll be so close to Max that RBR will have the "problem" of having two super quick drivers.

Yuki is gonna have a very chaotic race weekend. What with the second RedBull car being…..an enigma to drive, he’s got lots of work to do for the weekend races. A first TRIPLE RACE WEEKEND

It's almost like...Perez was right and that the car was difficult to drive...when even Marko is admitting the car is on the edge and needs to be better balanced, it seems like they should have taken their former 2nd driver more seriously.

Its unreasonable to expect Yuki to score any points this race, if he's binned after just one race I will not take RBR seriously again!

I read an article yesterday in which Marko said Yuki is going to be given the whole year. Good luck, laddie!

I wasn't Yuki's biggest fan when he first arrived. Not that quick, prone to mistakes and swearing at his pit crew but man, he turned it around. It's amazing how he developed in the sport and I wish him all the success but that also puts the spotlight on another issue that F1 has - the fixation on "generational talents" that are expected to hit the ground running. Some people can grow into really good, maybe even championship winning drivers but they are not given the time. Some teams expect an immediate return on their investment which is quite simply insane. I know F1 is THE peak and drivers need to operate on the highest level but come on, they are human and let's at least give them the courtesy of acknowledging that. Good luck in JP Yuki.

"I'm not here to make friends" surely was targeted at Red Bull higher ups who like that sort of mentality.

Red Bull has no eggs, and they have no basket :D

I truly think Red Bull looked at their car and has realized they are screwed until further notice. And they decided if they have to humiliate a second driver until it is working again, they'd rather throw Yuki to the wolves since he's out of contract next year.
