If we had everything from New Leaf when NH was launched, I’d say New Horizons was the best. Otherwise, it’s New Leaf for me. It introduced so many core features that are just important to the series now, and the welcome amiibo update slapped. Wild World is a close second, I’d even say *that* was number one; if not for the faulting online connection and the fact I had to share my house.

I got really burnt out with New Horizons and decided to revisit the original GameCube version. And I have to say, I was in love. The game was so wonderful to play, and it had nothing to do with nostalgia. The villagers were alive, they played sports and everything. I really think it just has such a good spark that newer games couldn't compare to.

Good list, I personally would have put new leaf in tier S and wild world in tier A but other than that I agree completely

It’s gotta be New Leaf, New Horizons has the potential if we get the missing content that New Leaf had at launch, like the Nintendo items, the roost, interesting furniture sets, the flower clock and maybe some more returning special villagers like Gracie, Kappn or even the mechanics from pocket camp (I can’t remember their names) and froggy chair of course

am I the only one that loves Happy Home Designer. It could have used a bit more features to make it less repetitive but as someone who likes interior design I had so much fun with it.

i've only played pocket camp and new horizons, for some reason, to someone i know, animal crossing was a way of saying "haha u suck lol u dont play actual real games" but animal crossing is pretty fresh now that i've played it. new horizons is now my second favorite game next to splatoon 2. im really glad i found animal crossing channels to help persuade me into getting the game.

Ngl city folks will always be my favorite part. The city always had this feeling to it there was more than just this.

The issue with ACNH is the lack of personality in the villagers. That was one think that was slowly lost as we got into later game.

personally, i would've given City Folk an S. like you said it's probably nostalgia, but it's the first Animal Crossing game i've ever played and i've spent hours doing nothing on it because i didn't understand how to play.

As someone who skipped Wild World, I cannot agree that City Folk deserves anything less than an “A.”

City Folk is my favorite. The fact that it's Wild World on Wii with remastered music + the city is super cool.

Only problem I have with NH is the hourly music just doesn’t feel like animal crossing and I would also like to not be classified as a island rep mayor sounds cooler

I like them adding stuff in regular updates, pacing gameplay like that is very in keeping with the chill vibe the game is going for and if it means developers aren’t being overworked in crunch time hell even better!

The perfect game would be:
- New Leaf's activities and NPCs
- Gamecube's villager dialogue
- New Horizons customisation and events

The soundtrack alone makes Wild World deserving of at least an A tier spot.
