As someone who has painted many cars, on anything semi-gloss or higher, every time you let go of the trigger you need to start spraying outside your area so it is already flowing by the time the paint stream comes in contact with the piece being sprayed. It prevents imperfections which show up in high gloss paints.

"He has the right to criticize who has the heart to help." Great job - thanks for demonstrating how you do it.

Thank you chris and your team. I bought a sprayer a year ago after watching your videos. I spray the trim and doors on my rentals now and it makes the job so much faster and better. I used to pay to have decks and exterior stairs painted but I do it all myself much cheaper. You have really helped my business. I'm doing a 4 plex that I just bought next. Painting has become somthing I enjoy. Thanks again from Alabama.

I like the #1guy for the door, he angled his fan as he was spraying the face more to hit the insets better plus sprayed edges twice. I love watching someone else’s spraying for a change😁👍

We all have our own ways of spraying for sure. Personally I never used a wand when spraying woodwork and always took off knobs and hinges. Fun to watch someone else do the spraying.

For those who find the video too long, here are some of the tips:

1. Keep the trigger pulled (this eliminates spits)
2. Start with a plan on difficult projects
3. Work from top to bottom whenever possible
4. If you are right-handed, it is good practice to start on the right

I just picked me up a Titan 400 for painting the inside of my house. I just finished prepping the trim and now its time to learn to paint with a paint sprayer. Thank you for all the tips.

My dad retired from the marine corps started painting airplanes during the week and houses on the weekends. I learned from him and now I paint using an 18 inch roller never have to take time covering and most of the time I don't have to tape anything but I recently had someone give me a brand new in the box magnum x7 and have some mobile homes to rehab so I'm going to use them to learn how to spray

Great videos and thanks for sharing. I am always learning something new. One thing I don't understand or see resolved is the build up on the walls around trim. I never see anyone brush it out and would think what I see on the walls next to the trim would be lumpy build up when dry and would show when rolling the finish coat on the walls. I am about to spray all the trim in my house and don't know what to plan for. Thanks.

The most important video you've produced for our industry. The baseboard and window sill stuff is especially relevant

Very good technique but the over spray on the walls tends to show up even if you prime it...I like to keep my doors off the wall. I love the tips you provide #paintlife

I have painted high-end and low-end houses for 35 years and have never painted doors without taking the door handles and hardware off, that doesn't make sense!

That's really good. I can't get over how little over spray there is when looking at the side view.
