Diana and Dimash are the two artists on top of my most respected artist for their talent. She is so lovely and humble. She has chosen to manage her career in a way where she is not overwhelmed by fame. She has anxiety and the experience in the Russian version of the Masked Singer was a bit much for her. I wish the whole world gets to listen to her. Lovely human!

Her voice does not get taxed when she sings low because that is her natural space and position as a Contralto, she does strain when she goes very high but she has trained herself so much that she can easily go extremely high too, she can go lower and a lot higher than what she does in "can't help falling in love" her lowest notes are around A2 and her highest in a song is a 4 second straight crystal clear D6.

It is Diana not Die-ana simple.

She has a shamanic voice that hypnotize everyone, and you falling down to another reality that you never know before.

Her name is Julia Parshuta. She is a very accomplished and successful professional singer. The other contestants were likewise professionals. She came fourth and many people have reacted to performances she gave on the show.
Diana was 18 and she won the contest.

The lower register is where she is comfortable, by her own admission. The highs are where she had to really put in work especially after puberty hit. Even her speaking voice has a multi tonal/octave thing going on. She has also said that if your vocal training is good, then a vocalist should be able to sing without getting tired or taxed

Dr Dan, sorry for the length of this comment, but there is a lot of background information along with specific information about Diana Ankudinova and this performance. This was a vocal competition called the “ShowMaskGoOn”, that she competed on when she was only 18 years old. This competition was held over a nine week period one episode per week starting on September 25, 2021 until the Season finale on November 20, 2021. Diana competed against 8 other professional singers, and when you include Diana, the numbers of singer's totals 9. Also, all were members of the judging panel. For each individual performance the judges awarded judging points to each other, but not to themselves. Each singer was required to perform a different song during each of the nine weeks, and for each song they had to use a different genre and a different style of music.
One of the 9 songs Diana performed was her cover of the Elvis Presley classic “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, which was her first song of the competition. This performance demonstrated what many vocal professionals had previously speculated. Diana Ankudinova was no longer developing into a Contralto, she is now performing as a true contralto voice type. For those that may not know, a contralto is the lowest kind of female voice, and a true contralto is very, very rare. Diana opens “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, in her low, deep, and resonant contralto voice.
During a past interview Diana said she was not happy with her lack of a higher vocal range, and that kept her out of the more prestigious Russian music academies. She decided, along with her voice teacher to concentrate on improving and extending her upper range.
Now to answer a very commonly asked question about Diana’s voice. Vocal range is one of many points used in defining a female singer's voice type. At age 13, when she competed on “The Voice Kids Russia” in 2017, her vocal range was measured from a low of D3 to a high of A5, a solid Alto range, but still quite low for the vast majority of 13 year old girls. In 2021, 5 years later at age 18, during her “ShowMaskGoOn” performance of “Can’t Help Falling In Love”, Diana’s vocal range was again measured. Her vocal range now measures from a low of C3 (male tenor range) to a high of B♭5 (Mezzo Soprano range). The improvement and extension of her upper range is also on full display during the middle part of this performance.
But it's not just how high or low she can go, it's the exceptional quality of her tone in both her upper and lower registers, and her ability to transition seamlessly between her lower, mid, and upper registers. It's in her timbre, the roundness, fullness, and depth of her voice. It’s her ability to create, access, and use an enormous amount of resonance that define Diana as a “Dramatic Contralto” which is the deepest, darkest, and most powerful contralto voice type, and is the rarest of the rare contralto voice types. The depth and power of her full Dramatic Contralto chest voice is on full display during the final section of her performance.
So the question is, how does she do it? How can this young female singer achieve the low, round, rich, deep, resonant, and profound sound we hear? Without actually scoping her vocal tract while she is producing these low notes to actually see what is or is not happening, we can only speculate. But the general conciseness of many vocal professionals seems to attribute Diana’s unique vocal ability to her winning the genetic lottery, meaning Diana was just born with unique vocal anatomy. Diana’s vocal folds, (vocal cords), appear to be longer and thicker than the vast majority of female singers. Her larynx (voice box), also appears to be larger, and her oral cavity (mouth) is larger, plus her pharynx (throat), similarly appears to be longer and wider than the fast majority of most female singers. This combination of vocal anatomy gives Diana the ability to produce the low, deep, rich, full sounds that along with her unique tone quality makes her stand out, but without actually scoping her vocal track, there is no way to be 100% sure.
To conclude, near the end of Diana’s performance the judge on the top row who is the first to stand is the well known Russian opera tenor, Yusif Eyvazov from Azerbaijan, who was invited to be a guest judge. Yusif is also married to the world famous Russian opera soprano Anna Netrebko. At the end of Diana Ankudinova’s performance, she receives a standing ovation from all her fellow competitors. A fellow judge and competitor, Julia Parshuta, the blond woman standing in the center row dressed all in red is a well known Russian contemporary singer. Julia Parshuta looks totally shocked at the end of Diana's performance, puts both hands on top of her head with a look of total bewilderment and disbelief. Finally, the 9 week competition concluded on November 20, 2021, with Diana Ankudinova being awarded the most judging points from the other competitors over the 9 weeks, and she was declared the winner of this series of nine programs.

Tommy Profitt is the author of a dark/minor/low version of an old French ditty. But does anyone know who Tommy is? So, thanks to Diana and her Moscow team, we learned more about what is happening in the world around us. This performance is Diana's first appearance at an adult competition (she just turned 18 years old). And she opens the first round (out of 9) with this brilliant (beautiful and smart) performance and determines the level of the entire competition. The judges are mostly other competing (and more established) singers, so they now understand what a surprise this dark horse Diana is. Needless to say, Diana won her first adult competition (on Russian television), showing that she is unique and fluent in many musical genres.

This show is a competitio n where the contestants are also the judges. They perform for 9 rounds in different genres and they judge each other. Diana is, by far, the youngest, all others are seasoned professionals. In each rounds there is one guest Judje, in this case it was the guy who stood up. He is Yusif Eyvazov, an Azerbaijani opera singer, also husband of Ana Netrebko, a Russian opera diva.
The lady in red is Yulia Parshuta, a well established and popular singer.

It’s easier for Dee Anna to sing lower than higher notes. She has worked very hard after puberty to maintain and even expand her vocal range.
