Trevor Noah : INDIA feels like HOME ❤️🏠

My friend asked me what I meant when I got back from India and said it felt like home. I told him, you know what, there were parts of Delhi and Bengaluru that just reminded me of my home country South Africa, where we have a big Indian population and influence. It's crazy, but it just felt familiar, like a place where I belong. That's why I said it felt like home.

I am born in Mauritius and when I reached 24yrs old I fly to India and the moment I set foot on Mumbai, I feel the same strong grip on this land, it is difficult to explain and yet I feel like at home every time I go . This is the only place on earth, I feel like that.Totally agree with you.

I know what you mean Trevor. I was born in Jamaica and immigrated to Canada when I was a child. 30 plus years later I traveled to India. The first time it was Calcutta. Parts of the drive from the airport to where we'll be staying reminded me of Jamaica. I didn't fell like a tourist and didn't need to point my finger and comment on everything. Then I went back 7 years later and I was in Kerala. We went for a walk one day through a small neighborhood and we passed the homes on a small trail and it had fruit trees that I knew from Jamaica. I was amazed. It was calm and serene walking amongst the fruit trees hanging over the fences from peoples homes.
2013 was the last time I went and I still feel like returning. I've been to other places, but even with all the issues, I as a Black woman, often think about returning.

I'm Australian and spent time in India. I felt completely at home. I wanted to kiss the ground when leaving. It felt like leaving my mother.

That is the most heartfelt beautiful and truthful thing I have heard from Noah. India is a mystery in itself which would take generations to uncover.

Listen to his words....feels like home... Trevor Noah is a very well TRAVELLED and HIGHLY CULTURALLY KNOWLEDGEABLE person. He knows communities and cultures and India made him feel like home. GOD is where you feel home is. It's a feeling of being at one with your consciousness and aligned to your external. Western countries are too scattered and makes one feel "lost". India is the internal home of our consciousness....
