I really loved the way he changed his accent... Its not like he was insulting indian but more like enhancing the atmosphere...

Both hindustan and india are names imposed by outsiders. Bharat is real name.

If you want to understand India imagine Europe as one single country. I'm Indian from Tamilnadu.

Hey, South African Indian here, he was definitely trying to do an Indian Indian accent. In some of his South African standup specials, he does a South African Indian accent pretty convincingly.

Kudos to the random Indian guy minding his own business for speaking excellent English in the first encounter with a brit ✊😂😂😂

The greeks called it India, the Persians called Hind. We indians called it Bharat or Aryavrata

The most hurtful thing is to always be remembered that India was colonized by Britain.

It always makes me think my motherland was exploited and we were enslaved and it hurts me a lot.

It just squeezes my heart out. I can feel the hollowness everytime something reminds me of it.

The best thing about TREVOR is this, that his skills are phenomenal it actually travels you to the places which he's portraying in the ACT, you physically belong to your home or office or wherever you watching it however mentally you are in some other place, place what he's portraying in the performance, true legend.

Glad to hear, "Indian Accent"
because we ourselves don't recognises that we can have a different accent other than british or american.

Personally I think Trevor Noah does the best Indian accent out of all the foreign comedians and actors.

The oldest name of India is bharatvarsh! actually India has 15 different name that adapted over time to time! Like Aryavrata, Bharat and more!

It was the "Aryavrath" but the king named Bharat it is named after his name "Bharat", and then the British era comes and named this country "India".

He has perfected those accents, the pronunciation of the Gods, and had exactly the right flavor of sarcasm for an Indian from a mannerisms perspective. That's what made it so great! I mean of course there is no such thing as a universal Indian accent, but assuming the most common take of it we have seen in media, I liked the subtlety/ease of his. Also he has said he bases his accents based on people he knows in real life, so to Achara's point, it could be an Indian in South Africa that he learned it from.

In Arabic, spices are called "Buharat". In Indonesia, 'west' is called "Bhaarat". Our greatest epic is "Mahabhaarat".
And that is because India's original name was "Bhaarat-Bhoomi", which translates to "The land of the Bharatas".
And "Bhaaratas" were descendant of a famous emperor- Bharat. Bhaaratas were people who dwelled on the east of Indus river- which we called "Sindhu" in the Vedic times. Interestingly, in Chinese India is called "Shindu".

The Persians/Iranians who used to live on the west of Sindhu river couldn't pronounce the 's' sound. So they used to call as "Hindu", and named our country "Hindustan". By the way, "Iran" comes from "Aryan" .

From "Hindu" it became "Indus" in the Greek texts. That was the name of the river in their language which kind of, stuck. And the Greeks hence coined the name "India".

Fun Fact: The person who is first doesn't always comment that he is first.

Thank you for acknowledging India have many accents/languages/skin colors, because quite often foreigners just believe India have just everything is one, which is not true. India is so diverse in term of everything and I mean everything from skin color, languages, cultures to literally everything.

Glad to see the man did that Indian accent so perfectly...🔥🔥
N I'm proud that we Indians have our own accent unlike other countries(Spain, Russia, etc)....
