Music: "The Devil's Eyes" – Karl Casey @ White Bat Audio
This is the Stanley Hotel in Colorado. People have experienced some very strange things there. It was built in 1910 by Freelan Stanley and some say he's still there. He died in 1940 but that didn't slow him down. He's been seen wandering the hallways and watching people from his portrait in the lobby for decades. Some claim that his eyes follow you no matter where you go.
In room 217, it's said that a young girl passed away. Since then, multiple guests have reported seeing her apparition. Some of them have even said they've heard her whispering in their ear and touching their hands. This is the room where Stephen King stayed when he was inspired to write The Shining.
It doesn't end there either.
People hear parties with jazz music in the empty ballroom at night. In the basement, a sinister presence has been reported by sneaky guests and some of the staff refuse to go down there altogether. They all claim to feel an overwhelming sense of fear and dread down there.
In 2016, a guest named Henry Yau captured a strange image in the lobby. It looks like a woman, and possibly a child next her, at the top of stairs, but Henry claims there was no one there at the time the picture was taken.
Is the Stanley Hotel haunted? Or have the guests just spent too much time at the hotel bar? What do you think?
