Any tips on this issue I'm having that whenever I decimate or try to unsubdivide all of my seams start going crazy and make all kinds of weird markings on the final product?

If i add a normal mesh I can see the wrench icon on the side but with my model i don't see it why?

So I tried un-subdividing a plane mesh I had used for a sketch I drew to make a bas relief out of. However, when I appended it into my other scene and unsubdivide, I lose all of the relief details on the mesh plane that I used a displace modifier on though...How can I unsubdivide without losing the displace modifier effect??

Can you also make it a higher poly count? Nothing ridiculous, just like game cube to switch amounts

i find that doing this often results in triangles in some spots but not all . is there a way to repair the mesh in mass after /during the process? i tried "tri to qaud " but it didnt really help
