Pixies - Where Is My Mind? (Music Video)

This was done for a film production class assignment that required us to make a "cinepoem" that made the audience feel some emotion.

So I decided to make my video using "Where is my Mind?" song and made the footage have a stark black and white.

What I love about this is that no object or person you see on screen seems to be traveling in the same direction. And it's just enough to be chaotic, but just enough to also be choreographed. And that's freaking PERFECT for a piece of film that is cut to specific beats of a song. And I love all the tricks you used to show it. Somewhere around the 2:20 mark, there's a shot out the window of the flags and they're blowing in the wind against the direction of the car. That's freaking perfect with how the rest of the shots are constructed.

The shot of the feet moving up the steps is another one: I'm so glad you didn't overdo that.

With something as timeless as this song, especially, it's like trying to make a sketch of lightning in a bottle...but you've done it.

Why the fuck is this the most viewed video version of this song? I can't even find the fucking original official pixies video for this song (pre-fight club fer you youngsters), because everyone in the world has to to make their own fucking fan-vid for it, (as if it hasn't been done a MILLION times already!) - and 90% of those are just video mash-ups of Fight Club scenes (really?). At least this one has original video content, but jeeze.
