Tesla recommends putting J1772 adapter into the Model 3's charge port FIRST, then plug the EV charging cable into the adapter.

Good point on not using level2 charge stations when on a long trip, it's not worth the long wait. Thanks for the detailed walk-through on a chargepoint station, I haven't used one yet but some areas I drive through only have these and no Tesla stations.
