Appreciate this video: I’ve been on beta blockers for quite some time and wondered why would rarely get in peak and cardio range according to Fitbit. Managed to get heart rate in the 120’s doing 300 kettlebell swings: 71 year old with titanium mitral valve and pacemaker/defibrillator., carnivore.

My gen 2 beta blocker (Metoprolol) seems to be affecting my metabolism and it's harder to lose weight. I've heard gen 3 beta blockers eliminate the effects on metabolism somehow, but it's hard to find any research on the topic.

Thank you for this info.
I’m 68yo and want to (eventually) get off heart meds. Understand I may have to be on heart meds for life but a reduction in dosage would be good too.
You’ve explained why I feel so tired the next day after bike rides. I do 20 miles (min) and want to ride more miles.
Looking forward to your next vid.
Again, Thanks.

i use them for social anxiety 10 mg before any social event, 10 mg a hour before and lasts for 4 hours and i only use it like twice a week i have severe social anxiety the feeling of butterlfies in my stomach heart beats really quick where i cant catch my breath i get super anxious
my brain goes blank my face gets stiff and starts twiching and blushing and then i feel fear goosbumbs everywhere thats whenever im around alot of people it ruin my life and job and school but my doc was like try this before any social activity and i was like huu a pill i did it and it changed my life wow holy crab i only take 10 mg and i think its kinda cool where u dont feel ur heart rate going so high cause all my life ive been having anxiety and im use to heart palputations so having a slow heart rate is pretty cool even in exercising people need to know their body is still getting worked regardless if their breathing or not if uve been training for years u should already understand ur body and know when its to much or to little screw ur heart rate

I am a sustain level. At resting my heart is at 114. And I've had 2 ablations for SVT. Have an arrhythmia now (skipped heart beats) amd he found some SVT again while wearing a heart monitor. So I'm on Carvedilol 6.25 twice a day. I weigh 290 lbs after 2 babies, in 2 years. I really need to lose weight😔. I was on metropolol for 3 years, but my cardiologist switched me.

My doctor just put me on Zebeta.
This is the fourth beta blocker for me.
I was on metoprolol, Sotolol, and Bystolic.
I experienced varying side effects with them. From depression, to erectile dysfunction, and mood swings. He prescribed bisoprolol for me recently and the first few days were great. My mood perked up, I felt vigorous, my breathing was even better. But lately I’ve been experiencing muscle cramps, and dehydration. Idk how to feel about these medications. I wanna exercise but any physical activity feels laborious now. The honeymoon phase with Zebeta is over😂

I take Bisoprolol every day because of my high palpitation and blood pressure. I’m used to walking so fast but sometimes because of this drug, I get really bone tired and I feel that I’m climbing a mountain not walking on the ground and my breaths become really hard and fast, in a way that I’m a climber not a person who walks a bit fast.

I used to delay taking my beta blockers until after going cycling which can be 50k up to 100k so my heart rate can increase to get speed and more maintained power but after watching your video I don't think it was wise to delay it but thinking about it I don't think there's much difference in power and speed with a reduced heart rate after experimenting, even though with beta blockers I'd get 50 bpm up to 130 bpm whereas delaying it would get to 150+, this is using 2.5 of bisoprolol, an hour after exercise my blood pressure would drop to around 113/54 whereas before exercise it would be a little high....thanks for the video

I have just had a mitral valve repair 8 weeks ago. I was put on bisoprolol 2.5 mg. You have to take these seriously. I have just had a rebound as took it in evening instead of morning after quite an active day. Scared the hell out of me as I thought I was having a stroke. Went to A&E and got the all clear. Nevertheless, I wonder if I would be better off the beta blocker altogether. Research seems to indicate blockers don’t really extend life or reduce stroke risk. I feel trapped by it and would like to return to exercise and weight training when I can.
