I love the innocence your mom has that it didn't sound bad to her.
Absolutely hilarious, too.

The second I know someone who becomes a dad I'm doing that😂

I was thinking of unsolicited baby advice, but that's so much better/worse! 😂

This is definitely a generational thing. When my brothers became fathers EVERYONE (our mom, our dad, friends, other relatives) would say "go ask Daddy" or "what would Daddy say?" or even "here's Daddy" when interacting with the child to reinforce what he was going to be called by the child. No one saw that as weird or creepy in those days.

On a pleasant morning, she is finally happy that her son is a dad now! That's what it means.

When I told my ex he might be a dad he called his mom (she already knew) and when she answered the phone all she said was “hello daddy” and it was so priceless

😂 It might also be a generational thing. I started a new job and my coworkers, all 20+ years older and they work from home. It was raining and they where sending raindrops and I couldn't stop laughing - that's not rain 💦

My mom said “good morning daddy” to my ex after the birth of both our children and neither my ex nor I thought it was anything but a sincere congratulations. 😊

In her defense, she didn't know you were going to sip the coffee right at that moment 😂

In Ireland, particularly the northern area, it's very common to call our fathers "Daddy". It's so awkward now that people have made it weird 😂💀

After 37 years of marriage, I still call my husband "daddy" when speaking in front of our children. To them, that's his name, unless they are introducing him formally to someone. They never outgrow mom & dad, so that's how we address each other in front of them.

Oh, I find it so sweet. In Latinamerica we will call daddy or mommy our own children- or when we address a loved one with tenderness. 😊
