hi, great vid! i just got an FX3, and was wondering if you thought going with the V+ over the V (shogun's too big, pricey), if the price difference is $650 for the V+ "pro deluxe starter kit" on adorama vs a V for $400. I ordered both during BF and will return one. I know the V+ is largely overkill but I did want the FX3 for the 4k120 so I wonder if the extra couple hundred isn't worth it, especially considering the accessory pack.

Old vid but the way you talk about recording 'internally' doesn't seem correct or is confusing. "internally" = "in camera" in other words the exact opposite of using an external recorder. There is no "internally" referring to an external recorder, because what it does inside itself is "external" to the camera. Refarding the Shogun Inferno and audio, in general if you're looking at an Inferno you're probably at a level where the audio is going to be recorded separately. I would have liked some sort of 'scratch audio' being recorded easily as it would make it easier to sync the video and audio later, but slates exist for a reason heh. I have a Shogun Inferno - my annoiance with the audio breakout is that the cable is too big and the connector sticks out. XLR is probably because that's the kind of mics at hand on set but still...

The Atomos V+ is more future proof, which is why i chose it over the old v. A 7 inch monitor / recorder is too big and bulky imo (for a small mirrorless body), especially when mounted for a shoulder-cam setup. The extra 500 nits to 1500 doesn't matter doesn't make enough of a difference in the sun or outdoors. You are find with a 1000 nit screen but with a mandatory sun hood.
