A new trial in the US is trying to make genes from scratch. Along with optimism, it's raising questions about safety and ethics.

Easy solution: Save as much sperm in a sperm bank before undergoing therapy, and if you ever want children after that, then just ensure the impregnation happens using the prior storer sperm.

It seems that there will be no cure without terrible side effects. Governments should put more money into research such as this to minimize the side effects and improve the technology further.
