For the first time, Chinese scientist used new technology to alter DNA in human embryos. The experiment could eventually change genetic code for generations. Eric Schadt, director of the Icahn Institute for Genomics and Multiscale Biology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, joins “CBS This Morning” to discuss the impact of the research.

I'm writing a paper on the CBS article explaining this.

My main concern about this experiment must be going with the fact that it is indeed a hereditary disposition for most of the scientists in the US for the most part. Importantly, we can't go through with proceeding to this experiment without learning what can function and cannot function in that genome. It's irrational to configure our abilities and physicality on my part. I think that they should look into more of studying and research with more time before embryos can be altered the way that the Chinese did with theirs.
