It was nice as a 5 degree black belt I like to say with respect a little more power in stance and blocks and punches but it was acceptable.

For someone as young as this, not bad at all, a little heavy on the feet though, front stance was good but back stance he is leaning a little too much on the front leg.

Notice where he was looking it took a while for me to get out of that habit as well

I'm a white belt in Shotokan and I've learned Heian Shodan, Heian Nidan, and Heian Sandan. My sensei lets me learn the other 2 kata for a more refined execution once I reach higher belts.

Edit: Now I'm an orange belt & I've also memorized the remaining 2 Heian Kata, Tekki Shodan, Bassai Dai, Bassai Sho, Enpi, Jion, Kanku Dai, Kanku Sho, Jitte & Hangetsu. I focused more on kata than kumite, however I primarily focused on Heian Shodan until Heian Godan. Sometimes, Tekki Shodan is included.

As a 17 dan master i would have some advice, focus on the stance and give it some more power

Well done little man! 3 tips. In my Dojo we don't step we slide if that makes sense but if you're Dojo doesn't do that it's completely fine. 2nd tip. Try not to do a 2 second wait when you do the block. 3rd tip. If you're Dojo does this kata first in Shotokan Karate ( I do this karate style) It is way different to ours because we do no blocks in the white belt kata but in the orange belt kata you do. So I was just confused that's why. But good job little man. Coming from a Yon-Dan (It basically means a 4th degree black belt).

In my 4 years of training i refused exams before 😢
My regret now for I was a kid that time
I take things by granted I said I want to do karate I instantly got in but I didnt appreciate the art of it so I dropped out

The kid is doing well nice firm technique, but it depends on the karate system, but basically he’s not supposed to be stomping his feet and that can be a deduction while testing for the belt

Just a little advice as a purple belt the shorda uke ( don’t come at me don’t know if I spelt that right ) is in back stance not front 😊

What I notice is his Back stance is incorrect. Back leg needs to be bent more. And he has to slow down with his kata in order for the teacher to look at his stances. Techniques, And his kata speed. He has to work on his upper blocks as we'll. He doesn't open his hand after upper blocks. I recommend him practicing his techniques at home. He has to work on his stomping in his katas. I rate the performance of his kata 8.3 / 10. He just needs some practice.
