The DJI sounds better on some voices while Rode does for others. I MUCH prefer the usability of the DJI Mic 2.

Did you adjust the low cut filter on the dji mic 2 that's on right out of the box . This can cause the audio to not be as clear and full sounding . I'm not the only person that noticed that . Another YouTuber also mentioned it in his video

My EQ makes the DJI Mic 2 sound like a Broadcast Dynamic Mic (SHURE SM7B)

Your test sound like you also forgot to disable “low cut” filter (I made that mistake too) 😅

Appreciate the effort you put into these video

It doesn't come with the Lav 2 mic. you will get only the DJI Mic 2 (2 TX + 1 RX +charger) If I am wrong please drop a link to where I can buy a complete kit with (2 TX+ 1RX+ Lav)

I used the DJI Mic 2 on a shoot recently and I was not a fan of the audio even with low cut off. Featureset/ease of use? Completly amazing. But I strive for high quality audio above all, so making the change to the Rode. I agree with your assessment on which one is for whom though.

I bought the DJI. Haven’t used it yet. Seems more user-friendly.

I 💯 agree with your analysis and conclusion. I have both sets and it’s the same for me

It seems the DJI performs optimally with interference

Interesting. Both lavs sound similar in most tests. Rode sounds better on the pack and on some lav takes. It’s like the DJI is in low fi mode. DJI has better range though, so maybe worth it if you’re laving up for a wedding but that’s about it.

I also like how the DJI allows you to just plug in the transmitters and transfer the files while the ride requires their software.

12:23 If we are wearing the transmitter on a tshirt, shirt or blouse, neither blend in. They are both bulky units that our audience is either growing to ignore, or we should lav up.
I’m not a fan of audio vendors putting their brand name on the product in prominent ways.

Wish dji gave us the locking connection

Also rode connects to the pro caster so you can do 4 audio channels with the interface. Kinda of handy

Rode sounds better.. Might not be at cute as the DJI 😜 but i prefer better sound. DJI is cute in a 90s pager kinda way

Thank you for this comparison! While I do some content creation on my own, I also do pro work with clients, much like I thought b4 watching the video, I think the Rode will work better for my use case.

The sound from the Rode sounds close to a Shure mic! 😮
