Alex is there to reel in Angry Joe when his fandom and nostalgia blinds his critiques. I've felt that Alex is a great addition to the show and always shares important insights and opinions that Angry Joe sometimes ignores or forgets to mention. Maybe his critiques are overly negative for some, but I feel that's a representation of the current media landscape that keeps putting out mediocre products.

The brutal reality is that Alex is a better reviewer and gamer than Joe. At this point its better to see Joe as the charismatic personality thats in charge of everything.

I feel like Alex is actually a great counter to Joe when he gets really excited about something, he always offers a fair counter pount and when they agree you can tell the game/tv show or movie must be good

There are legit reasons to dislike the TheAngryJoeShow, but Alex is none of those reasons. IMO his addition actually saved the show, because he brings a rational opinion that complements OJ and brings AJ back to reality when he goes off base.

It’s not just Alex it’s all of them. They’re suffering from content creation burnout. They cover everything because that’s their livelihood. But when you literally review every TV show board game and video game eventually you don’t like any of it. That’s exactly what’s happened to them. If they could take a year off, I bet you when they return you’d see a much happier cast of people.

I don't have a problem with Alex. Each person brings something different for a review. OJ is your basic general audience, Joe is kind of the middle person, although sometimes I feel Joe will focus sometimes on political aspects and say what he needs to say instead of saying what he wants. Alex is your intelligent critic. Alex is also a huge nerd, so he brings more depth to a lot of discussions, there's a lot of people of want Alex to speak more and for Joe to stop interrupting him constantly. But to each their own.

I 100% agree with this.

I just watched Angry Joe's review of Monkey Man. At the very beginning, Joe was excited and said he had a good time watching that film (it is good). But then of course Alex and the OJ come in with their usual negative attitude of "it was too long", "could get better pacing", etc...and then suddenly Angry Joe chills out and gives it a 7. That is BS cause you know Angry Joe said at the beginning he loved his time watching it, but Alex with his usual bitch mood brought it all down.

I didn't mind Alex at first, at first it was Alex was the Cinema Snob, OJ was the goof ball, and Angry Joe was middle of the road... now they all are similar snobs like Alex.
