One of my favorite videos thank you for sharing I was an alcoholic past 9 years ago and I cannot tell you enough the harm to you to your body to your family to your love ones to your soul to your spirit The word “Alcohol” comes from the Arabic “al-kuhl” which means “BODY EATING SPIRIT”, and gives root origins to the English term for “ghoul”. In Middle Eastern folklore, a “ghoul” is an evil demon thought to eat human bodies, either as stolen corpses or as children.

The words “alembic” and “alcohol”, both metaphors for aqua vitae or “life water” and “spirit”, often refer to a distilled liquid that came from magical explorations in Middle Eastern alchemy.🙏🙏💯💯🔱🔱🧿🧿

I binge drink once everyweek, Lots of wine until I get wasted. I've been doing it for almost 3 years non stop. Next day is miserable, I never thought I would've acquire a problem. I'm not a social drinker, I just stay in my room listening to music, drinking and now I also smoke marijuana after I get drunk. I want to stop, I use it as a crutch for my loneliness and sadness. Boredom is my biggest trigger, but even when I'm busy I think abt my next bender it's like a reward.

Been sober for 24 years and enjoying every single day. If you are unhappy with your relationship with alcohol, quitting is possible. And will be the best thing you have ever done for yourself.

I like alcohol but my heart breaks for alcoholics. They're in a worse position than other drug addicts. Alcohol is so woven into our society that few people even consider it to be a drug. The fact that it's so readily available puts alcoholics in the worst position. It's so easy for them to relapse.

I stopped completely, feel much better now. Staying sober is way better.

I'm 13 months sober. I was a yes on all 11 questions, and the idea of 5 drinks constituting a binge struck me as faintly comedic - 5 drinks was a warm-up! 400-ish aa meetings & 12 steps later, I look 15 years younger, no longer hate myself and look forward to playing my guitar 🎸, seeing my girlfriend, making myself useful, hanging with other sober members and helping still suffering alcoholics. In contrast, a year-and-a-bit ago, I was looking forward to having the unbearable hassle of being alive taken away by continuing to drink, because I could envision no other future.

I started binging at about 24. I knew right off hand this needed to be a weekend only thing and I stuck to that. Still, drinking fairly heavy twice a week started taking it's toll and it was hard to quit. I quit for certain spans of time like when I got married but would slip back into it for a few years at a time. A few things changed; I no longer got hangovers and wouldn't ever get sick even if I drank way too much. I could drink like a fish but couldn't get that buzzed feeling anymore, instead I would pass out if I had too much. All the fun was gone. I had been praying that I could quit and God heard my prayers. He has a sense of humor you know. I crashed my mountain bike (not while drunk) impaled my leg and thought I was bleeding out. In the ER the doctors said my enzymes were high and asked if I drank. I otherwise wouldn't have known that. The good Lord got my attention about drinking and life in general ... I regret all the wasted time but glad nothing worse came from it.

If you have to binge drink regularly, it is alcoholism.

My last partner swore that it was just how he had to deal, a few days a week at most. But turned into a hateful monster whenever he did. If anyone challenged it, they were cut out of his life. It isn't the amount of alcohol, it's the consequences that make you alcoholic.

My sister drinks between 1 to 4 packs of tall can cheladas and there are 3 tall cans in each pack. So she is drinking almost an 18 pack every week but on days she works she only drinks a pack of 3 tall cans, so a 6 pack a day. She spends about 100 bucks a day. I'm trying to encourage her to either quit or drink less. I can tell it's changing her way of remembering and also preventing her from leaving her home to visit family.

Yeah, I would definitely struggle big-time with that in college. I'm getting better controlling myself, but now I just typically not drink at all.. the next day is just not fun at all.

Binge drinking regularly at best puts your life on hold maybe for years while your underlying issues remain unaddressed

When I was 8, I was caught redhanded stealing a sip of my father's ice cold can of coors light while he waa mowing the lawn. He wasn't angry, but instead found it humorous. I found the taste was so revolting, I became a complete teetotaler right then and there. When I turned 21, I asked my physician to test me for any alcohol allergy/intolerance. And much to my relief, I was!😆😆😆😆 I haven't touched any form of alcohol since I was 8. Even before being tested for alcohol intolerance, something inside me told me I wasn't missing out on much by completely staying away from alcohol. Actually, I'm very thankful that I did.

Binge drinking is more common in Young adults because they go out and party more and they don't have as many health issues. Older people don't do it as much because of age and health problems.

I’m scared to admit that I have a binge drinking problem. But my binge drinking has caused me to have seizures when I’m hungover. It’s crazy scary. I had my last seizure on Sunday and I’m still recovering. I don’t want to binge drink anymore.

I get plastered and blackout about once every 8 months. This behavior damn near causes a divorce every time. It only happens when I drink beer and tequila. What the heck is wrong with me? Why does this happen to only me and not my friends? I am fearful that if it happens again, I will lose everything.

Five weeks sober, no rehab, no drs. I had an ego death on psilocybin and quit cold turkey that day. No withdrawal symptoms either. Just a happier, healthier, fuller life. I know things aren’t going to be sunshine and rainbows forever, treating myself with the respect I deserve is going to make everything a hell of a lot easier.
