Moms, we need to talk-- and this applies if you have young kids, or your kids are grown with families of their own. You want to keep every wonderful thing your child creates or brings home from school. But these beautiful keepsakes can and will add up to an organization nightmare, and a stressful handover years down the road.

So what do we do? In this video, I address the issue for both generations of moms, and I give you some storage ideas to make sure you're keeping the appropriate amount-- and enjoying it for years to come.

After moving boxes and boxes (repeat) to our new home, I've started going through masterpieces that I couldn't part with when they were created ~30 years ago. From the first half of the first box, I collected about 50 sheets of scribbles, rote math & spelling papers (yes, I saved EVERYTHING). Put them all out in the recycle bin on a very cold & windy day...then the recycle bin's lid blew off. By the time I realized this, my daughter's papers had found their way well into the next county. Moral of the story: "Learn to discern" when it comes to your kid's art, or 30 years from now you may be chasing it down the street. p.s. I'm still finding papers weeks later when I take the dog for a walk. (Sorry, neighbors!)

How much of your kids’ stuff have you kept? And are you a mom with kids still at home, or are your kids grown? Let me know in the comments!

Great video. I am going through pictures of my kids and grandkids, and should I shred all of the pictures, or just trash them? Thank you
