😱 Giant Black Scorpion - Wildlife Thailand 😨

An awesome & huge wild forest scorpion crossing a fairly busy road in northern Thailand. I play with him a little (just for the camera) purely to show you his mighty strength & totally fearless nature...but i do not harm him in any way at all. Then we watch as he returns back into the comfort and safety of his own lovely & calm lush forest.

they don't even look creepy they look cute and bad ass, like the time you kept poking it with a stick, it looks like the thing's ready to defend himself.

Scorpions ALWAYS creeped me the hell out. Especially when the scorpion raised its' tail looking like it was preparing for a battle. WOW.

There are even scorpions in Italy. I usually see them at night outside my house.

These little things don't even begin to hold a candle to what their extinct sea scorpion cousins were like in terms of size and nastiness. The largest sea scorpions remains located were 2 meters long, bigger than a human. They would skewer their prey like shish kabobs with the sword like projections emanating from their big arms (chelicerae) and leisurely finish it off by chewing on it.

Would definitely not want to get stung by this guy though!

It's an Emperor scorpion. The sting is about as bad as a bee sting. The pincers can do more damage than you think, they are designed to crush and if they catch you in the right way will pierce your skin.
The general rule with scorpions is...the bigger the pincers, the weaker the sting. Small pincers and they tend to have a more powerful sting and can potentially be deadly. There are exceptions to these rules though. Treat them with respect and they are all safe. None of the species in Thailand are considered deadly. Shine a UV light on them and they glow luminous colours. It's usually the best way to spot them if you go looking for them at night.
I had an Emperor as a pet. Named it Homer after Homer Simpson....then found out it was a Marge Simpson after it gave birth and I woke up to find it's back covered in tiny white scorpions.
cool vid...but stop poking them.

Used to have an asian forest scorpion like this as a pet. Not sting happy, they sting for defence mostly. Pretty strong pincers though...

Seems it takes plenty to make the emperor scorpion angry and to attack.

I would think it’s rare to find one walking about in the daylight like this. It is very vulnerable.
