The blob of liquid oozing out always means the spider has bought it. This scorpion winning against a black widow is a little unusual, tho'. The web is so strong and sticky, and they're usually very good at immobilizing anything they go up against. Other kinds of spiders seldom win over a scorpion, but the widows' are usually the ones getting to dine.
