I just reset my crappy macbook today and I couldn't believe the intro I saw. I realise that now, 10.6.8 WAS the last apple product to have an intro.

I remember getting my first Mac on Tiger. Opening it up to a screen that happily welcomed you to your new computer and walked you through setup was really nice. It was a major improvement from the clinical Windows setups I'd seen on my family's computers before.

Is it just me or is the MacOS X 10.5 and 10.6 the best intro video they have made? Saying "Welcome" in like 15 (yes I counted) languages? And it's also the most fascinating one I have seen by them to date.

i'm from a windows-loyal family (only ever used macs at school) and the one mac we did end up getting was well after they stopped doing these videos, so i never saw these. so aesthetic!
