Welcome back to our Franna Crane Project! In Part 24, we're diving headfirst into the next exciting phase of our fabrication journey. Join us as we continue to tackle the front end of the crane 🛠️ Watch as we gouge off the old lifting lugs before fitting and welding in a new plate floor. But that's not all—we'll also be positioning our new cab on the frame so we can mark out and drill the mounting holes. We also weld on the support strips for both the cab and the toolbox before welding out all the parts that we’ve fitted to the front end. Our dedication and hard work are paying off as we make significant progress, but there’s still plenty to accomplish so stay tuned for the next Franna crane update!

We're stoked to finally see the new cab in position on the crane and very satisfied with how everything looks and how it's turning out so far. What do you think of it!? Let us know in the comments 😍👇

When I remember that you folks are rebuilding the Franna and directing, producing and recording the enormous effort in your spare time while still running the CEE business six days a week, I feel thoroughly privileged to be able to watch such high quality videos week in/week out. Respect, heaps and heaps!!

7:42 And this is why we know he is a precision machinist. Bit of plate folded to his specification slides in so tightly that it is air-cushioned as it goes in. Respect.

I'm 83 years old and already, I can't wait for the next instalment. I've been following CEE for years now. It's got to be THE best produced program on YouTube...bar none!

This video is absolutely stunning! The installation of the new cabin and the welding of the front end of the Franna crane shows the craftsmanship and craftsmanship that went into the build. I really like the way you cut out the old lifting lugs and installed the new floor plate, it shows the attention to detail. The positioning of the cabin and drilling of the mounting holes is also remarkable; it requires not only skill but also precision. Your hard work and dedication is paying off! Looking forward to more updates on this project!

This is the only channel that gets my full attention from start to finish. I am not a fabricator or have any background in metal work but this is still my favorite thing to watch

If there were a “best of” YouTube award category for makers I would nominate this crane build series. This is an insane amount of creativity, engineering, physical work, and its all beautifully filmed, edited, and narrated. Not to mention the level of detail and attention to quality in every aspect.
To think this is all brought to us by 2 people and 1 dog!
Absolutely amazing work you guys!

I love the way you use 123 blocks to position stuff for welding. I can hear my metalwork teacher yelling at me across the decades 🙂

By the time you get done with this thing it is going to be a work of art.

My brother was a life time metal fabricator. Now I see why he loved his job so much. It is incredible to watch Kurtis build this masterpiece. Sure would love to go back to being 20 again and change my vocation.

I'm so excited for you, Kirtis, to be getting closer to resembling your crane. The improvements you have made will make the whole machine so much better for you. The best thing is everything will be new and you will know everything about it.

In woodworking we call it a dry fit put it together then take it apart making sure it's proper before gluing. It can save a lot of hassle. Excellent job thank you for sharing.👍
