We Continue BUILDING The New Cab! | Franna Crane Project | Part 23

In this next instalment of our Franna Crane project we continue building and fabricating the new cabin! We start by tacking the frame to the outer body before tacking on a door support. Next, we fit and tack the internal parts, including the side console, dashboard, and seat base. Once everything is in place, we go through and fully weld it out by stitch welding all the inside and fully welding the joins on the outside. Everything is going together really well, and we're loving the look of the new cab so far! What do you think of this build? Let us know in the comments and stay tuned for the next video!

I cannot wait for part 35 - Franna Crane Project - Coilovers, wide arch kit, front splitter and rear wing !

I gotta say, as a career sheet metal mechanic, the fact that the only bit of modification we saw was the grinding of the control box, minimal at that, and considering the qmount of material, bends, and welding infolved and that was it, I'm most impressed! Props to you and the metal supplier. You all nailed the measuring, manufacturing, and fit up of all those parts. Very nicely done, sir!

The whole Franna series (I know not yet finished) is the most informative thing I’ve seen in decades, and what an advert for any potential customer. Absolutely brilliant.

If Franna is smart they'll be watching and taking notes. They really should be sponsoring your rebuild with welding supplies and parts. Excellent ! Great engineering!

The construction process of this cabin is impressive! The meticulousness in each step of assembling the frame and door brackets shows a deep understanding of structure and design. The precision welding of the joints not only ensures durability but also shows high level of craftsmanship. I can’t wait to see the finished cabin, it will definitely be a remarkable work of engineering art!

I am so happy that you did this series - I cant imagine how much it has cost in time, materials, effort etc. But this build project - I am hooked. Can't wait to see the result.

Great timelapse work Karen! I love the clock in the background and your pacing is really spot on to hold viewer interest while not sacrificing Kurtis' craftsmanship. 🙂

I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone re-build, from scratch, a crane! The skill, dedication and determination is just outstanding! Excellent watching!

Clamps, clamps, and more. Never can have enough, I'm impressed with your collection. It's going to the coolest crane around your parts

it's truly admirable how all those parts fit together without any major adjustments. if at all. The measuring and dimensions are top notch. True craftmanship

I'm a bit of a physics nerd so I like the fact that at 19:27 you can see the UV from the welding arc is so powerful the tape measure case fluoresces so strongly it reflects bright green light onto the metal surface.

I just discovered a new use for my mill hold down sets. 0:40
Your 'spreader bar' was pure genius! And Karen's cinematography was flawless as usual. Thank you both for the early morning treat.

We had the family viewing this morning after breakfast. This is truly a monumental undertaking and with Karen's camera work the whole world can see how a project like this is done correctly and without compromise. As always, thanks for all the efforts you make to share your work with us. The Boscheks in Germany wish you a pleasant and peaceful weekend. 🧡

And to add
As a crane operator and rigger for the past 15 years, driven many frannas, bhb’s and hummas, I am absolutely loving this series!!
Very interesting seeing how everything comes apart and goes together and what all the internal workings do.

Ha there, you could always seam seal the inside as an added protection, which is sandaled prier to paint. Water, moister as you will be getting in and out of the cab with dirt, water on your boots and any other substance that can cause rust.
