What makes philosophy interesting, is that goes beyond the mechanical and tries to peek into the mind of the Universe, science function is the dis- integration of things and philosophy tries to weave it into intelligent integration

This was incredibly shallow of Neil deGrasse Tyson! You shoul always ask the "deep" questions about why it works and not just be satisfied with the fact that it works. That's like me saying I don't care how my car works, I'm happy that it takes me from A to B. If I ask the "deep" question and find it why/how it works, I may be able to fix it or eventually even build a new one, or a better one. Wouldn't that be awesome? Tyson disappoints here.

Does General Relativity not explain "why" gravity works? Objects with mass bend/warp space causing other objects with mass around it to fall towards it? Is that not the explanation for "why" Newton's Law of Universal Gravitation works?
