Siege of Eregion Full Scene - Rings of Power S02E07

The Siege of Eregion was a deadly battle between Sauron and the Elves of Eregion during the Second Age, marking the beginning of the War of the Elves and Sauron.

The Lord of the Rings is an epic high fantasy novel by the English author and scholar J. R. R. Tolkien. Set in Middle-earth, the story began as a sequel to Tolkien's 1937 children's book The Hobbit, but eventually developed into a much larger work. Written in stages between 1937 and 1949, The Lord of the Rings is one of the best-selling books ever written, with over 150 million copies sold.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is an American fantasy television series developed by J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay for the streaming service Amazon Prime Video. Based on J. R. R. Tolkien's history of Middle-earth, primarily material from the appendices of the novel The Lord of the Rings, the series is set thousands of years before the novel and depicts the major events of Middle-earth's Second Age. It is produced by Amazon MGM Studios in association with New Line Cinema.

Siege Tactics 101: when besieged, one need not and usually should not itch to "do something". The entire point of the attackers needing to siege is that they cannot break your defenses. If they cannot break your defenses, your primary goal is simply to hold out and hold off any attempts to break past your defenses.

There's so many things wrong with this battle that if I took the time to go through it all, I'd probably die of old age.

No wonder Eregion fell given there were just three Elves defending the entire region.

This battle isn't bad because of physics. I feel like that's an over simplification. It's bad because it offers absolutely nothing new especially from a Middle Earth battle. It just feels like a knock off battle of Minas Tirith and not a well done knock off.

IMO if they just simply said this was a "Fan Fiction" this show would most likely get lesser hate

To be fair, I think the way the catapults do have a different way of working, so they look like the couldshoot further, not that far though. Minas Tirith catapults were pretty far away too, so.

That isn't how mountains work, nor catapults, nor water, nor rivers. Ffs this series is awful.

Funny how LORT (movies) physics was much more messed up than this, yet people never cried about it like babies. And don't let me start with the Hobbit...

Lol, how far away are the orcs from the mountain? Looks like a few miles.

Range of a counterweight trebuchet? About 300-400 meters.

Well played RoP. Should have just stayed in Morder and attacked from there. Would be about as believable.
