Thought I'd publish a nice early live version of the classical Al Stewart's masterpiece "Somewhere in England 1915".

I have loved Al Stewart's music and songs since I was a teenager, as I write I am 61 years old, and I am very attached to most of his songs and this is for me one of the best. His style, both in singing and playing is more unique than rare. I think I am "sick" because I listen to him every day, my family does not tolerate me well for this, ha ha ha.

Now that it's 2015, wouldn't it be cool if Al decided to feature this great song at his shows this year. I know he can't reproduce the surreal bridge without an orchestra, but I am sure that he could work the magic of his guitar into a reasonable facsimile. For those who haven't heard the final, recorded version, listen to it now!

it s good that even now he performs, as he did around Britain last year.Ive been seeing him since 1969, and I wish he would stop basing his set around 'year of the cat' ignoring such a rich history of songs.this song has the chord progression of his old favourite bob Dylan, , ie. desolation row.
