Where has Al Stewart been all my life. I am 78 years old and I heard this song for the first time on the radio this morning. Beautiful melody and the lyrics sent shivers down my spine. It has made my day a special one. Karen W

My wife and I just had our first child. A few days after she was born my dad took me out for a beer to celebrate and talk. As we clinked our glasses he said, "to time passages." I've known this beautiful song for years but now these lyrics have a whole new meaning for me. Cherish the time you have with your loved ones, it's fleeting.

Saw Al Stewart just this year in California 2024. We were truly transported out of this place and lifted to another plane, so thankful to see him live, what a super iconic experience. Love you Al Stewart ❤❤❤❤❤

I'm nearly 64. This tune really takes me back. A real joy on "repeat one". Never gets old.

I remember hearing this at the roller rink. Every weekend, we all went there to hang out and that was in the early 1980's with disco balls, fog machines and more colored lights than you could shake a stick at. It truly was a magical time growing up. We caught the end of the 1970's and the beginning of the 1980's at the same time. We had the best of both. Nothing quite compared with going around a roller rink on skates and just hanging with your friends on a Friday or Saturday night. Playing Pac Man or Defender in the arcade. Man we were blessed but we couldn't know it then or truly appreciate it until now. I am 58 this September and I wonder where the time has gone. It gets away from you that fast. But when I hear these songs, it brings you right back. The feelings, the sights, the sounds, the memories all come flooding back and it almost seems like you're in a dream for a short time and the younger you is having some weird dream about the future you. Then you snap out of it and realize, it's the other way around. A guy who was a friend of mine and brought me out of my shell, introduced me to KISS and indoctrinated me into the KISS army died here not all that long ago. We were classmates and friends. My class has lost so many already. Makes me hope that in the afterlife, wherever we go, we have parks to listen to loud tunes in and long summer days that seem like they will never end. I like to think that they are all already there and when we finally make it, we will pick up where we left off and life will be good. Some things about growing up I would never want to repeat but there are other things, a lot of them, I can remember now as if they happened yesterday. Would be nice to get those days back. Days before being disabled and all the problems health wise crept into our lives. Days before marriage and divorces turned us upside down. Days when we never thought of having to say good bye to friends we stuck by through thick and thin. Before life became so complicated.

I was just 7 years in end of 1980 and my family was moving house that afternoon in Brazil. It was such a mess! Suddenly I stopped at kitchen and heard this song on the radio. So many years have passed but I do not forget my child really miss my parents, my grandma, my child friends, my old school!
