A tip for people who are doing Edexcel - the np and np(1-p) info is given in the formula book so you don't need to memorize it.
In fact for Normal the only formula you need to memorize is the standard normal coding of (x-mu)/sigma.

Got my applied maths mock tomorrow and this has been very helpful for it especially as we were never taught np and np(1-p) in class

i was wondering, can you use approximation to find if a value is within a certain 'expected' number that is NOT the standard deviation and, if so, how? :)

hey when you said if np and np(1 − np) is greater than 5, is that relative to the question, so in terms of n, or just 5 in general @9:45
