Am I missing something? Italy is more like a mush than a landmass there. No dot to indicate something, no Assassin logo, so how did Ezio come up to this conclusion?

Codex showed the map, apple showed the location

Feels weird seeing Ezio wearing normal armour instead of Altairs this late into the game. I always race to get the special armours as soon as reasonably possible without rushing the story.

If you connected all the huge dots things in the map you can see all cross italy AKA Roma

He also lied to Sofia.

As you can see here, Ezio has seen the complete world map. But when Sofia asked his opinion about what lies beyond the border, he merely "speculated" that there may be new oceans and most of the scholars he knew claimed that the size of the world is bigger than they thought.

I personally think the 'dots' on the map are not the location of the vaults, but the pieces of eden.

The 'Apple is placed just to pinpoint the location of the nearest vault. If Ezio can see the location of the vaults by Eagle Vision, there's no need for him to place the 'Apple' on the pedestal in the first place.

I know that there are alot of Lore explanations for this but I think the real reason is that the game developers couldnt do such in depth detail of Maps in game cinematic because the game was bloody made in 2009

The funny thing is that so many peninsulas on that map are detailed, but Italy is the only one thats like smudged and messed up 😂

It's a game that was in development in 2007 and released in 2009, it wasn't going to be that detailed. This game had a low budget and was made quickly. Italy visible there, but it is fainter due to the Eagle Vision effect. It's all a mush, we are seeing it through Ezio's eyes and Ezio is seeing it through his Eagle Vision sense whilst just looking at codex pages, letters.

It always kind of bothered me that in the ending of Assassin's Creed 1 the world map shown by the apple had modern day borders. It opens all kinds of unwanted questions. Does the apple keep up with modern day politics to update the map? What countries would it consider silhouetting? Kosovo? Transnistria?

He probably knew how Roma's map looked like you know he saw it somewhere or something off screen i mean they have been a lot of time jumps through out the game
