I think when Michael left they should have made Jim the manager again. The original premise of the show was what if a normal office had a crazy boss, but by the time the eighth season came around all the characters had grown so eccentric compared to the first two seasons, it could have been what if a normal boss had an eccentric office. Might not have worked but I think it would have been better to try something new instead of trying to capture the same dynamics with Andy instead of Michael.

This was actually indicative of David Wallace’s failures as a people leader. 1) Interviewing Jan’s role before he fired her, 2) Sharing decisions before they were final, 3) creating co-managers…he did it.

6:27 is one of my favorite Michael Scott moments. He was well aware of the dire situation the branch was in, but he was more concerned with keeping his people happy

6:49 Love this moment from Michael. He's aware that the game was stupid but he knows that is better than just doing work.

I like how Michael was right, playing the murder mystery game was the best thing to do

I love at 6:50 that Michael checks Jim. It shows that Michael was always the real manager. Jim was at best an assistant manager.

Leslie's laugh at 6:24 brings me so much joy. It sounds so genuine too.

Con: you unzip your pants and realize there's a calculator down there.

One of Michael's best lines.

I am really impressed how underrated the scene from 6:50 is. I mean, you barely see it mentioned on youtube, or even see any videos talking about this episode (as there is to diner party, for example). This is one of the most powerful scenes from the series. Not from this episode. Not from this season. From the ENTIRE series.

Jim’s face turning from, “ok, maybe we should stop now.” to “wow….. ok…” from 8:41 to 9:28

Jim was at his worst when he was a manager, good thing they killed the idea fast, seriously what office in existence has two managers

Their co-managing had some lows but it definitely had highs too. I enjoyed moments when Jim and Michael appreciated having each other)
