If anyone’s unfortunate to not have seen this masterpiece of a show, the context is their paper supply company just got bought out by a big tech company. Under new management, the manager has a capped salary, while the sales people can earn a lot of commission. So the manager, Michael is trying to give up his position and go back to sales.
