The Rape and Murder of a young doctor at the RG Kar Medical Hospital, a public hospital in West Bengal, has shocked India and stalled medical services across the state and country as doctors lead protests everywhere. A key accused has been arrested but protesting doctors believe there are others involved. Doctors across India are demanding a new law that ensures their physical and mental safety. Top Kolkata Doctor Raja Dhar has told Mojo Story that the nature of the injuries point to this being a gang rape - which means that more than one rapist was involved and key rapists and murderers are still out there, free.

It's sad only doctors all over India are protesting. It's shameful. She must have benefited scores of patients in her short career as a doctor. Where is the Civil Society? Where is the outrage? Why only doctors are protesting? Does this not affect everyone in the community? Everyone just lines up to ask for free medicine and consultation, but such an atrocity is met with deafening silence? We Indians should be ashamed by ourselves.

There has been another rape case on Aug 11 in Jharkhand- a nursery class student raped by a school van driver. And kids getting raped has become a common thing nowadays. Why is there no outrage on this? Is it because it is not politically motivating enough

To me, this seems to be a revenge killing, since the victim had been tortured so much. Her eyes were bleeding, meaning the rapists tried to gouge her eyes out. Her mouth was also bleeding, meaning they tried to cut her tongue. Her private parts were bleeding, meaning they hit her in the most vulnerable part of her body. Her pelvic or thigh bone was fractured, meaning they used extreme force to disable her.. So it was not just rape, it was also an attempt to inflict maximum pain. Why? I think the rapists knew her and wanted to take revenge for something. Probably they work in the same hospital.

Remembering the nurse at Mumbai and Nirbhaya which until today still feels paranoid because I am a mother with daughters. All this happens because of sick mindset, evil and a spoil brat who doesn't respect others because he wasn't taught that or they weren't taught that. Just take note, everything starts from home if parents don't monitor their child or just spoil them and give in to their lifestyle, not knowing where their whereabouts are and with whom they are hanging around plus the evils of the internet, everything goes hay wire. It's really sad been happening every day in our country be it an elderly woman or a very young child few months old, so ....what do we do as citizens of the country protect our children? Is the law going to help them every time they call for help. I urge all of the women in this country to please go to a safe place if you feel or have an intuitive sense that it's not safe..

a  chivalrous, courteous or honourable man.

It’s not done by one person. There are few at least 4-5 involved!!!! How can cctv footage not help? It’s a conference room and it’s unimaginable. Only close circle knows that she’s gone to take a nap there!!!! Police are useless if they can’t arrest the right culprit! The man arrested now looks like a scapegoat!
