Me being a resident FEMALE doctor - I would still like to ask - we women after being variably talented in multiple tasks, why work 36 hours in residency, years after years - for graduation (internship), post graduation, superspeciality at bare minimum stipend of 50k-80k (across this Nation) and absence of daily basic needs like decent food, water, rest and safety at work place i.e. our hospitals

This is the current situation in most states in India!
In such kinda training we learn the science of how to save others' lives - prioritize others' needs... neglecting our own basic

Why not choose any other profession (engeenering, commerce) - like in IT sector, banking - where easily anyone doing 9-5 job earns more than 1.5 lakh with weekends off! Why we need to choose this profession and suffer? That too for such a society - such great people of our nation - who after ripping our skin off and breaking our every bone of our body and breaking our pelvis - inform our death (grievously injured) as 'suicide' to our parents !!!

As a doctor we have no respect for our fellow doctors...
As a human we have no humanity left....

It's very very sad.

And we want to celebrate Independent India !!! Jai Jo! And we still want to celebrate/ worship God ( Devi) in temples and pandals !!!
What a yug this

Civic police volunteers (they wear blue uniforms) are essentially TMC cadres in uniform. TMC rewards its thugs with these informal positions. This entire concept is the brainchild of Mamata Banerjee.

@ThePrint Shekhar, having lived in Kolkata for the last 25 years, I've witnessed its transformation firsthand. I can confidently say that the TMC government has caused more harm to West Bengal than any previous Governments.
The TMC government has significantly reduced direct recruitment in the government sector, particularly in the police force. Instead, TMC workers are being brought in as volunteer traffic police and police man, allowing the party to exert control over the administration at a local level. This means that if any one specially TMC worker misbehaves or commit crime against someone, it's difficult to file a complaint because the person at the police station might also be a TMC worker in uniform, acting as a volunteer police. These contract-based jobs not only ensure votes from their families—who fear losing their livelihood if the government changes—but also allow the party to maintain a stronghold. The same pattern is being observed in other government offices, like the RTO and even in schools. This situation is particularly concerning given the high unemployment rate, as qualified candidates from villages and other districts are being sidelined in favor of party loyalists, who are being offered jobs on a contractual basis, compelling them to show unwavering loyalty to the party to secure their employment.

Very disappointed with this reporting by Shekhar Gupta, he missed several points why post mortem was done in the same college where the incident happened, also some portions around the seminar hall was broken down today, yes her body was cremated hurriedly, why did you not mention kolkata high courts observations on the police and administration. There is a clear cut administration involvement, shekhar gupta trying his best to say otherwise.

The fact that this animal was repointed again to another institute makes it clear. The buck stops at Mamata Banerjee, She is the culprit.

TMC participating in this protest is like a serial killer asking for justice for their victims!
Is this a joke?
Disgusting party.

TMC is participating in protest when they had an active part in trying to shield the real criminals and cover up the whole thing.
What do they think people will forget they had a role in a total miscarriage of justice.

Be it any political party, their atitude towards health and doctors at large is pathetic. Even during Corona instead of giving risk allowance to doctor, the Government ( all political parties) applied essential services act or threatened them of kicking them out of PG course. Government should instead encourage private healthcare who at least have good private security and doctors Duty room

I'm so glad I left India after MBBS. The whole medical system needs to be broken down and rebuilt. I am sure there are 100s of NRI doctors including me, who would be happy to participate in rebuilding the medical system.
