2012 was definitely one of the best years for Lego imo

One of the most underrated Lego themes ever

It’s themes like these that make me wish lego would rerelease themes on occasion. Sure it’s unlikely they’d do it, but it would be nice none the less.

Oh man, I loved Monster Fighters. It was one of my first Lego themes I was interested in. And a long with Chima, solidified my love for Lego.

"These were the first minifigures to feature any prosthetics" Chief from rock raiders sitting sadly in the corner

Rodney Rathbone’s last name is probably a reference to Basil Rathbone. He was an actor who starred in a lot of old school horror movies (though he’s probably more well remembered as Sherlock Holmes).

The early 2010s were an interesting era for Lego for sure

The nostalgia hits for me. I got the train set as a gift when I was 7. I want to have the set again someday.

A fantastic theme, and definitely worthy of a second wave!

I love legos, I love monsters, I love horror, and Halloween is my favorite holiday. The Lego Monster Fighters is definitely my favorite lego series ever, it’s my childhood obsession. I got every set except for the haunted house. The werewolf is definitely one of my favorites, what’s yours?

Man, Rodney Rathbone has come a long way from terrorizing the children of Odyssey...

I can't believe it's already been 11 years. I still have some of these Minifigures in great condition. My two younger siblings and I used to play with these for hours. Maybe Lego will do something similar soon.

Didn't know the whole back story but I just loved the aesthetics of this theme. Only have two of the sets I regret not buying more at the time.
Yes, LEGO, please brink back cool looking themes like this! There's way too many mechs nowadays...

I hope we get a monster theme again soon, this line was just fantastic!

They should bring back the theme but also bring the other known monsters like slashers, dream demons, Onis, Djinns, self aware the invisible man, robots, aliens, cyborgs, the headless horseman, wraiths, spirits, etc.

Actually, Jack McHammer’s arm was first used in Agents 2009, 3 years before this theme came out

I actually wasn't too interested in this theme at the time but that Haunted House blew me away - back when modulars were the kings of sets, it was astonishing to see something that wasn't a cityscape set with such detail. I had it displayed for years.

The coffin was also used in pharaoh's quest from 2011 but in dark blue

It’d be interesting if they brought back the “zombie bride” in an Edgar Allan Poe-themed set.
