If you’ve got a dream to become a successful engineer/mixer…this video is a must-see.

I'm tackling the hard questions facing those who want to break into or up their game in the recording industry:

* Is there still opportunity left?
* Is it getting harder or easier to succeed as a producer/mixer?
* How much money can you actually make doing this?
* What does it take to reach the top?

jordan, im 52 i have a good day career but ive been getting ready to enter into your courses. bobby torres as well. for a long time i was the independent artist, had some independent record deals, etc. i actually like the way things are going. i think its completely do able to keep my day job and be a legitimate "person" in the industry. it seems you yourself have a lot going on outside of mixing, producing, etc. this may be the best time for "independent" people in the industry on all levels. as always thanks for the content, motivation, and the clipper plugin. i didnt even know it was yours but it gets the job done !!

Can't believe you released this for the world to see. So much value in this. Thank you.

I make music videos. What I found was every time I raise my rates I get like 3 or 4 of the next clients that say no and then you get everyone else saying YES. And god damn the extra money is nice. Helps against burnout, upgrades, etc.

Love this video Jordan! Speaks truth about where the industry is at, what opportunity is available and how the PPS & Syndicate are the ideal way to become an elite producer

Although this is an immensely helpful content and meant to be positive and motivational for those starting out, I'll be the boring person to say that-aside from the few "global" charts and numbers given-this "industry analysis" might really only apply to what's happening today in the US and Canada. I can say with a good level of confidence that none of the numbers and general optimism around the industry apply to South America (I'm sure that for other areas as well).

Love your content-just getting a bit tired of folks constantly talking about the US as "the whole world".

I had this experience of offering free mixing. I went on the FB page of belgian music bands and offered to mix for free. I only had ONE reaction. A kid who recorded a ... song... that was only a one track guitar recording of verse-chorus-verse with moving tempo. Anyway I took the challenge ....:D

Are the physical Meetups only in Canada?

I live in Spain, maybe things are a little different here. What did encourage me about this carrer is that I have seen the amount of bad professionals in this industry. I have seen a lot of people with good gear making bad records.

This is crazy! Who has this money? Mammoth sound will master your full length for a couple hundred bux and he’s pro and worked for Disney on audio production. I’ve been recording and touring since the 90s and now just want to make great recordings for myself. I was gonna get a guy to mix my latest project and he said 100 a song. I thought that was too much and now just doing it myself. Thanks for all your tips Jordan, I’ve really learned a lot from your videos and bought your clipper plug-in.

Most of the musicians I know, perform, record, mix and master their own work.
Imho, digital streaming platforms have lowered the bar for entry. Anyone with a DAW and some music knowledge can put their stuff on Spotify or similar. As a result the real studio and a mixing engineer, etc, are going to go the way of the Dodo.
Getting into the "top" tier is much harder than you suggest.

I rarely do a dislike, but when you mask over independent artists growing and owning 5% of the industry, and making it as a positive, I’m a bit lost as to the positive there🤷‍♂️
Btw Jordan I’m not a hater at all, and I do believe we’re in a positive growth market but 5% is not an exciting number, bearing in mind a lot of followers are in the 0.0005c
