I’d say Pogba Neymar Hazard were probably the last of a generation of “flair players”

Pep not forcing managers or coaches with his style of play. Pep was taught tiki taka since his childhood. His mentor was cruyff. He went on to master tiki taka. Why would pep ever abondon the style of play that pretty much in his dna. Pep is tiki taka and it simple as that.

Pep doesnt have control of how other manager and coaches set up their style of play

Respect for telling the truth. Notice how defenders very rarely go in for a challenge now and rather stand up to ensure they don't make a "mistake". Slowly, football is becoming more selfish and robotic. Much like society.

How many players are good enough to have a team built around their flair/skills, where the skills win games. Very very few.
There will always be a place for talent and players than can beat a man. What Pep sets out is you beat the player in the right conditions and with purpose.
Look at Ronaldo he started as flair player and did step overs every time he got the ball. He became a goal machine when he focused on doing this in the right conditions and improvement himself physically.

Yes, we dont see players like Hazard or Ronaldinho 'cause they stopped playing football in the age of 30. I think lotta players understand that now, and they just dont wanna end like that. And yeah, both Ronaldinho and Hazard in their prime were ones of the best players in the world, but when you just analyze their careers, you'll see it last for like 5 years. And when you're tryin'to compare them with someone who just played in the builded system, you'll realise that you can't even contest them, because even their stats is shite.
Forgot to mention that Messi is literally like Hazard and Ronaldinho, yet he still made it and was the main face in Pep's Barca.

This is why football isn’t as entertaining as it used to be. It’s not nostalgia, It’s reality. Exciting players are having the flair coached out of them! 😢

So so true. Steph curry in nba is another example of a game changer that is changing the game not so positively

I think this season has brought an end to Guardiola ball. Might be a terrible prediction but we are starting to see the game we love come back this season

Funny thing is that Guardiola has used dribbling wingers if they had good decision making, Messi, Mahrez, Ribery, Robben, Grealish, Doku, Savio.

The problem with many dribbling wingers is they over dribble and lose the ball when a simple pass could work better.

Modern football has witnessed a virtual extinction age of diversity of play. I miss the variety that football used to offer.

When I was growing up scouts in my area always looked for athleticism and speed which meant that I was overlooked. I was very raw due to never having good coaching, I was a bit on the slow side but was a great dribbler and had great football IQ for my age. I was in the mould of a Merson/ le tissier. It’s a shame as I hate to imagine how many talented footballers slipped through the net!
