Young mom of hospitalized baby gets a big Christmas gift from an anonymous Secret Santa

Madison, Scott and their sweet family have been through so much this last year. Their baby was born at 35 weeks and when she was two weeks old, she woke up in the middle of the night projectile vomiting.

Maddy and Scott rushed her to the hospital and learned she had a brain bleed so she was airlifted to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City. Doctors discovered she had a birth defect which caused her to have a stroke on the right side of her brain which resulted in a brain bleed on both sides of her brain.

The baby spent three months at Primary Children's before returning home. A few months later, she started to develop extra fluid on her brain. She had to go back to Primary Children's to have a shunt put in her brain.

She was transported again by ambulance recently weeks ago because she has developed new seizures called infantile spasms.

Madison has been having to go back and forth to the hospital almost every week. She often takes the bus or gets rides because their vehicles are not reliable.

Their sweet baby continues to fight for her life and spent another few days at EIRMC with RSV just this week.

Secret Santa asked the East Idaho News team if we could pay Maddy a visit and drop off an early Christmas gift. Check out the video in the player above!

Hi im the madison from this video! What a crazy year we had my baby girl is doing so good and completely crushing it! She just started crawling a few weeks ago. She used her pediatric walker for the first time and it was the vutest thing ever. She has the most contagious laugh and smile. I will forever be grateful for what Secret santa gave us last year. Oh my gosh I love her. THIS truly changes lives! I'm a single mom with a chronically ill son, and we were given a new car by our radio station! Our old car had no heat among many other problems, and I had to take my son to dialysis at 5 am three days a week in freezing Temps! It's been 3 1/2 years and our beautiful new car has needed nothing but oil changes! Every time I look at it, I'm reminded of how blessed we were to receive it! It truly truly changed our life! This beautiful family spends every moment of every day worrying and caring for that sick little angel and their 2yr old. The worry alone is exhausting, and then to worry how you will get your family to hospitals, or buy the constant gas fills, and food while your sitting in the hospital with your baby? I'm still in tears (of joy) for this beautiful family! May you NOW be able to focus more fully on your little ones, and walk with a lighter step and a lighter heart with the emense peace these incredible gifts will bring you both! My son & his wife had 2special needs kids (one born after the geneticists assured them their second child had a 95% chance of being normal). It rocked their world for the last 26 years. We knew primary children’s hospital well. We lost our grandson but our granddaughter just turned 25. I feel this woman and her trial in my soul. I’m sure she and her husband will pay it forward because of what she is going through. Secret Santa this is a special one to my heart. We’ve been there, done that and we wouldn’t trade our grandchildren for healthy ones. Bless you Madison and Scott. May you be rewarded with happiness and health.
