Actually, building clay pits in Altdorf could have been a way to convince Louen Leoncoeur to trade with you, since each resource increases the chance for a proposal of trade rights to be accepted.

And those reiksguard don't fight cheap.

I gotta say, this is a great guide for new players. I really enjoyed it because you kinda took the time, that some other streamers or YT players don't do, to explain certain things like the movement controls and some tactics advice. Very nice. Empire is a neat race I think they have some interesting mechanics and units, plus they don't seem overly powerful nor weak, just right.

Franz is my favorite character but I feel the Empire mechanics are very out of date. I also think Franz would be more interesting skills wise if he were created today.

like approximately 20 turns from now you will have to deal with Greenskin invasion from the south, dark elf from the northwest, while VC snowballs bc your neighbors can't even defend themselves

So I usually do something similar except take hemgart fort first before moving to eilhart to consolidate the province and I usually train archers mostly not spears or free company

I know it's been years but I'm glad that Balthasar now has his own start. I never started with Karl before that rework and usually quit a campaign before recruiting him.

@8:41 you should recruit 3 archers turn 1 and then beginning of turn 2 you can do the pinewood quest and get a wizard at altdorf, then you can move to the ubersreik border

Something I found super important but isn't explained in the campaign; the events that go "Province A will keep region" vs. "Region will be restored to province B" will give you +1 Authority. You have to choose that the region will be returned to its rightful owner. The same as if you went Return to Elector Count when conquering a settlement. I've used that to generate a lot of Authority in the early game. Great vid; cheers Zerk!

The same skaven city thing happened in mine and it was roughly the same turn I believe. I think that might always happen but not sure

another note
the orc at Britannia will love attacking you
most of time the fort will hold but not for long
so another suggestion if to build full stack and second stack 3-4 unit as backup and attack them first before going to Vampire so you rear is secure
time try to take middburg before going vc, is to hard you can jump go vc first
