He also tried to sign up for the American Revolution at 13 and when he heard of Burr's plan to try and start a war with Spanish territory he JUMPED at the opportunity, this man was so blood thirsty.

One of my favorite representations of Jackson's Crazy is in the play about him Bloody Andrew Jackson he just shoots the Narrator like halfway through (It's obviously not historically accurate but really suits Jackson as a person)

All I'm saying is, Andrew Jackson would've been a far more believable vampire hunter than Abe Lincoln.

I think duels should come back.

Then the youth would be a lot more into politics

Another common misconception about dueling is that it always ended in death, dueling pistols were legendary for inaccuracy. Most duels, including Jackson's ended with both combatants firing into the air and calling it settled.

Andrew Jackson is basically what would happen if Alucard from hellsing ever became president.

Daniel O'Brien is doing the voice over for this. He wrote a book called "How to Fight Presidents: Defending Yourself Against the Badasses Who Ran This Country
" which is hilarious and got him in trouble with the Secret Service. He couldn't write about living current/former presidents at the time of writing.

The Dickensen duel is fascinating; apparently the man was a bit of a ringer, noted for having killed several men in duels. Jackson spent the week leading up to it practicing quick draw techniques in public fields. So during the duel Jackson fakes a quick draw causing Dickensen to go for a quick shot himself, leading to Jackson taking a bullet in the shoulder rather than through the heart. At which point he had all the time to carefully line up his own lethal shot.

Oh my God. Please, please react to an episode or two of the iconic british children's skit TV show Horrible Histories. Any kid born after 1995 will be able to sing you word for word some of the tracks from that thing, plus I would say it's one of the single biggest influences that got people my age interested in history. Doesn't hurt that it's hilarious. It has a reputation for not prioritizing accuracy, so I'd love to see your take on the show, given your historian perspective!

I will note that Calhoun was forced upon Jackson as vp by the state and would bring up separation from the states anytime a law that he dint like was brought up. So Jackson who really liked the union thought Calhoun either a traitor or a coward (most probably a cowards as he tried to duel calhoun at least 2 times)

Ah, Cracked! Loved their content. They've got this one really cool video about historical misconceptions that I love, but I can never remember the name of it. If I find it, I'll suggest it, because it's just real fun and talks about a bunch of the weird stuff from history that you don't think about.

Jackson's pet parrot had to be removed from the former president's funeral cause it wouldnt stop swearing.

Those duels were literally held behind the whitehouse.

Jackson dueled and killed a political opponent between being elected and actually being sworn in as president. That said, this man viciously insulted Jackson's late wife who had passed away during the campaign.

You should react to Jack Rackham's video about Theodore Roosevelt, America's Manliest President

08:25 Lincoln had the legislation forming the secret service in his office, on his desk, if memory serves, the night he was assassinated.

On a similar note, I always saw James K Polk as looking like a Time Burton character

I've suggested this one before, I think, you want a more nuanced(but longer)video, The Exploration's "Andrew Jackson: How the President Became The King" is really good
