5 - Captain America doesn't represent the American government. He represents the best of American ideals.

The video also got another thing wrong about 616 Caps shield: it isn't Vibranium, it's Proto Adamantium, the strongest form of Adamantium

I don’t think you can see people get it wrong if the mcu changes it to something

5:32 That's what makes him so American, and such a patriot. Even if America itself falls to tyranny, the founding fathers made it so the people wouldn't have to take the fall without a fight. The very first principle that every true American should follow, is that we shall never submit to tyrants

Don't get why people make such a big deal over Cap not being a "founding Avenger" in the comics. Those early Avengers comics were experimental, they had no idea what roster was going to work.

He is called "The First Avenger" because while he wasn't a founding member it's his ideology and legacy that the Avengers were following in when they were created.

Cap DOES have superpowers. He has heightened cognitive functions to the point of perceiving bullets like they're much slower, and has a metabolism making him immune to all diseases alongside near-limitless stamina and slow aging. He's at peak human potential but he has a few gifts.

I know that we all enjoy being pedantic sometimes, but I really doubt that "The First Avenger, " thing was mean to be taken literally. Like, c'mon.

Actually, #1 is technically wrong it was retconned that Steve was thought of when the Avengers were formed so in a sense he is the first Avenger

Okay. So I love the Civil War Movie, but the comic's story is UNRIVALED.

"That's not how it happens in the comics..." is the main tagline of this video.

"The first avenger" is true though if you don't think so literally. He was the first of our main avengers to embody an avenger, just without the title. That's how I always took the title.

3:38 they actually do show his artist skills in the movie but it's a blink and you miss it moment

It all comes down to the fact that the MCU isn't necessarily the Marvel COMICS Universe. They're similar, but not identical.

Cap was 100% right in the Civil War comics. Iron Man was basically a super villain in the Civil War comic, he threw heroes into a prison without trial, created an unstable Thor clone as a weapon and even defended said clone killing Goliath.

Civil war comic is light years better than the movie, nonetheless, the movie is also one of my favorites from the MCU

In the first avenger they showed cap drawing in his journal so they kind of did cover the fact that he's an artist

I never read the comics, but I didn't take "the first Avenger" literally. I thought it was referring to Cap trying to do the same thing as the Avengers, just before they existed.
