New LEGO Capes #lego

Here's a quick look at the new LEGO capes introduced with the Marvel sets.

This new piece is a rubbery mould, which attaches to minifigures over the shoulders unlike the old fabric capes which attach directly onto the minifigure neck.

I prefer the fabric, since you can put longer hairpieces on and you can pose the figure better.

Fabric capes feel better and give more character to minifigures, plus they’re the capes I grew up with so I want to see them

They should do the rubbery mold for display sets but keep the fabric capes for play features. It just makes sense

I love the new capes, but the printing in fabric capes are just awesome, I hope the new capes will have them too

Honestly, the smooth and cotton texture for the moon knight cape is just unbeatable for me

Hoping lego don't completely remove the old ones as I feel like they're better, though the new ones are good

Nah feel like Fabric is still superior, can still wear the cape and make the mini fit sit down or stand against a wall, heck fabric is better since the rubber ones will pretty much get chipped and break off more easy than the fabric ones

definitely a fine line where both is good, like for ucs or collector type sets use the rubber but play sets cloth 100%

It’s funny because I remember the first time I saw a Lego cape it was the wrestler minifig from the series 1 minifig series and seeing it on the character sheet I assumed it was made of some kind of plastic so when I finally got it I was really confused on how the capes worked (the two holes stumped me Ik there were instructions but I didn’t bother reading them bc I was a kid) and ended up cutting it in half so seeing these new capes heals a little part of my inner child knowing they finally did it. Fabric capes are still better for when you want to add other accessories tho.

I love the fabric capes, but these look great. I just wish they could move more

I like the doctor strange cape, it just makes sense. And when you display figures together, it looks better when their styles match, so in that situation, the rubber capes are better, but I still prefer the fabric ones because they behave like real capes!

While I think the rubber capes are super useful and look great, I feel like the original fabric capes just have that classic Lego charm that I don’t feel from the rubber one
