I'm in the stage of "sight" where I see someone crouching down under the back of the couch, for instance. Just for a moment. You go look behind it and, of course, there's no one there. I'm glad my family understands what goes on for people like us and doesn't treat me like I have something wrong with me. My dad has spirits that follow him and call him by name. I have heard them calling my name every so often since elementary school. I think it's just something you're born with, and whether or not you try to use it, somehow spirits and entities can tell you're different and stick around until you acknowledge them.

My family comes from a long line of people who could communicate with spirits. I’ve witnessed my sister being possessed. I’ve had my own experiences with spirits. My da told us stories of seeing the man below himself. It’s a gift and a curse. Once they know you can see them it’s over. It’s like that annoying kid that won’t be quiet. Just keeps nagging at your ears. You do have a wonderful gift and you control it very well.

Totally feel you. When I tell people that I can see people’s intentions through their eyes I get the same things:
“That’s so cool”
“What are my intentions?”
“You’re lying”
“I wish I could do that”
“So you’re a medium?”
In reality it’s terrifying. Especially if I’m wrong. You walk around in public and see all kinds of background characters of your life, but I walk around and get to see everyone’s cursed realities and traumatized pasts. No thanks. I get it girl. If u need a friend comment back plz. Ur a medium of the dead, I’m a medium of the living. We would make a great team

I totally understand my physic powers are kinda different I have very vivid dreams as if I’m living their life and my friends are always like “so who did u meet yesterday” and they just don’t understand how terrifying it is for me to feel like I’m getting possessed most of the time

this is both a gift and a curse. I've been possessed, been pushed down the stairs, pushed out of my bed, had my hair pulled. But I've also had really cool and heartwarming encounters with some very wholesome spirits, friends from past lives, a lot of things that really changed my life.
I've had this ability since I can remember too and it's really hard to control it. Having depression and other mental illnesses since childhood doesn't help either.
People ask me a lot about this, if that's awesome as they think it is, and, *NO!* Sometimes it's absolutely terrible because random stuff attach to you and out of nowhere you start waking up randomly to stuff touching you at night, lost spirits ask you for help and sometimes you don't know how to help, they show you how they died and it's gruesome seeing disembodied corpses when you're just going about your everyday life (specially if you live in an area where a lot of people have died, like I do). If I got to choose, I'd really love to stop seeing all of this. Sometimes ignorance is a blessing.

It has periods when activity is extremely low for some time and when I think I'm finally free, it happens again.
Recently I've started having recurring nightmares again and visions about murder, and I just KNOW someone's about to contact me for help. This one has to do with a marriage gone wrong.

My first memory of spirit communication was when I was four. My mum and grandma had taken me on a walk through a cemetery, and as I ran off and sat down to play in the grass, I remember feeling and hearing my grandad coming closer towards me. I wasn’t scared, it felt very matter-of-fact and normal. Stood in front of me, clear as day, he kept saying, ‘Tell Nanny, Grandad says, “I love you, Duda ”.’ I remember feeling irritated he kept asking me, so I just shouted the message quickly and carried on with my game. My grandma hated her nickname, Duda. When I was a teenager the experiences got even weirder and it frightened the life out of me. Objects would move around the house and I’d wake most nights to see the shadow of a tall man at the end of my bed. Aged 19 I went to see a medium for
a laugh and discovered it wasn’t just all in my head. I don’t understand why I can talk to spirits, but the fact it gives people great comfort proves to me it’s what I’m supposed to do. The healing that can occur from passing on messages from spirits to their loved ones is unreal. 🥰

I've had gifts since before I could walk and sometimes it feels as if there's two or more souls at my side, it's really strange sometimes I completely forget what I'm going and go do something else then I hear this nagging voice that screams until I remember. And when I was little like a toddler I fell down the stairs while my grandma was taking a nap and a young woman came into my room and played with me, We still talk sometimes but she isn't very talkative but I know she's always listening and she accompanies me everyday to school or even track meets. Once she even told me what to do when I was nearly kidnapped. I've been trying to ask her how she died but she's reluctant to tell me but I'm okay with that, I know she'll tell me when she's ready.

I was at a sleepover doing Ouija with my friends and it was terrifying. A poor kid named Dew, seven years old, who committed mass suicide in a cult. He was nice. But he clearly wanted to be close to people. He gave one of my friends awful tics, and another one became super cold and had awful headaches. He didn't realize it hurt us. Then we met Kevin. He was a lost demon. He was related to one of my friends. And he possessed me. It was awful. Being a medium is seriously so hard. I don't see ghosts as often as I hear them. I communicate with them a lot, tho.

I’ve always wanted to be able to be a medium, I know the risks that it brings but it brings light for other people. My heart goes out to you tho Kelsi, I know it’s not easy dealing with all of the negativity that the gift has. I know this won’t really help but think of it this way, you were chosen, you’re special to all positive spirits because you get to help others know that it’s okay to let their loved ones go and that they are always there for them. Thank you for saying this. As a medium who wakes up to people staring at me from across my room and frequently getting overwhelmed by spirits when I'm trying to sleep, this made me feel more validated. It's a gift until it isn't. Although it has its upsides, it also has its downsides, just like everything else.

I never tell anyone that I am a ”medium” or that I have that gift, I just learned to live with it, my family and partner are the only ones who know.

And now as I am pregnant I’ve become scared of my gift. The negative stuff really takes a toll on you sometimes and I want to do everything I can to protect my son. I keep a cross around my neck and a bible by my bed even through I’m not so religous just to make me feel safe during my pregnancy.

Sometimes I wish I didn’t see the things I do but I love to help lost souls and to bring peace to those who’ve passed. It’s those times it’s worth it.

It always makes me chuckle inside when people say that. If they only could’ve seen me as a child cowering in the corner of my room crying with my eyes squeezed shit and ears covered.
It only became a blessing later when I learned more about their needs and how to banish bad spirits/entities.
