Well, #Toyota could only sit this one out for so long; it looks like they’re finally getting serious about joining the battery electric vehicle game with this 2023 #bZ4X utility. And if their hybrid game-changing abilities are any indication, they’re not just showing up to play, they’re swinging for the fences. #ToyotabZ4X

"We didn't get Toyota's best effort". Oof, that's about the harshest MotorWeek reviews get.

I still think that the Toyota should've been called the soltera because of the larger sequoia and sienna ...and the subaru called bz4-x because of the br-z and the B9- Tribeca. But, what do I know?

Toyota dropped the ball on the BZ4X. Limited range, painfully slow charging, and wheels that fall off.

“It’s $43, 000!” I’ll continue to terraform the earth in my Corolla, thanks.

This video should have been delayed until the wheel problems were fixed.

I'd guess the wheel problem is quite serious in that it cannot be fixed by dealers. It is not loose bolts but something more fundamental that loosens fully tightened bolts. I'm wondering if it isn't some sort of resonance problem that arises in challenging circumstances and puts way more stress on the vehicle frame attachments than you'd expect. If it is a physical resonance problem the only fix may be some unwelcome dimensional changes. How many bits already built and paid for will they have to throw away? How long to test a possible fix? How long to get new bits? Toyota figured that next year would be the biggest year of production with only half that production the following year. Given the rapid evolution of the technology is it practical to plan a major delay in production or is it better to shoot for a significant all round update? Remains to be seen. This review seems like some kind of blind unreality.

Why did you test bz4x that wheels come off? Did they paied you advaned?

I feel like this would have been a great EV a few years ago. Charging is too slow, and it's too expensive when you look at the better competition. The Subaru version might be a decent deal though since it's still eligible for the $7500 tax credit.

*Toyota is offering to buy back its bZ4X electric SUV crossovers after recalling the vehicle in June, as first reported by Electrek*

When was this filmed? This car has been under recall since late June and there's no fix for it yet. In fact, Toyota has offered to buy back some of them. The review seems spot on. Not Toyota's best effort but a practical EV. Seems like the RAV4 of EVs IMO. I think the Lexus version will have better performance. However, when will it come out? Also, the charging is slow. That's the main shortcoming IMO, not even so much the range.

Mmmm, that name really rolls off of the tongue. Soulful and inspired!

Toyota definitely has a LOT of catching up to do.

I.m.o. Toyota is struggling to correct the full recall of this vehicle. Still no word on how they are going to stop the wheels from flying off.

I do agree that it's too overpriced, and that it needs to charge way faster than it does. But honestly, I think the power, at least with the all-wheel drive model, is really sufficient. 0 to 60 and 6.5 seconds is not slow, and not everything has to hit 60 mph in under 5 Seconds for it to be usable. This is not a sports car; it's a basic straightforward crossover. I've heard a lot of people complain about it not having enough power, but looking at that time, it sounds like it does.

I love this car so much simply because it's a handsome and boring electric crossover that I can stand. A car enthusiast like me can't drive their projects or built "daily drivers" every day without a lot of struggle to keep it reliable or cost-effective, so Toyota making something so blatantly bland and practical is refreshing to me

"working with Subaru" explains the extra-boring experience. Take Toyota conservatism and add Subaru boredom, and here's the type of result you get.

I work for Toyota in FLorida we didn’t get any yet as of August 15th 2022, I don’t know even price yet, will see when it actually get here, what will happen!!!

It almost seems like they were forced to make this vehicle.

In Australia, they recalled all of these “ev”s. The wheels would fall off literally. The Toyota myth is bursted.
