Their track record at building electrified cars and their final product tells you they really didn’t want to be here.

Wow, no brake regeneration, no one-pedal driving... sorry Toyota, you've seen better days. Hello, Korean brands.

A truly revolutionary car... if this were 2007.

For 2022... this is really disappointing! Range is limited, performance substandard, and the looks are... eh. Even the interior is underwhelming.

Toyota has been the #1 manufacturer for selling EV's for years.. boy, have they dropped the ball.

Too bad. There are simply too many great options for most people to settle for the bz4x.

An underwhelming vehicle. If you’re going to be late to the EV party, at least have a compelling product. You forgot to mention the DC Fast Charge rate is capped at 150 for FWD and 100 for AWS. 100?!?!? Hyundai/Kia will max out at 350. Who wants to be stuck for an hour at a charger? For similar cash you can get a nicely equipped Ioniq 5 with superior range, materials, and charge speed.

Electric vehicles are completely different from internal combustion engine vehicles. Toyota's overall electric vehicle technology level is very low.

The specs this has would cause me to think it's at least sub $40K. Toyota... you failed in so many ways with this.

You can't expect people to spend $45, 000 for a 240 mile range EV in 2023. That's ridiculous.

Test drove and was simply impressed that it does not look like a typical EV. (Porsche has an amazing EV for it's looks too)! Anyways, we love it, and thanks to this review, we will step up to the limited.

Reminds me of the Rav4 which is strangely the #1 selling SUV in the world.

There is DEFINITELY a use case for a large gap in front of the console. I was driving my car in snow. Car slid sideways into a snow bank. I could not get the car to move because of ice underneath. And the driver's door was pressed hard against a snow bank. I slid from driver's seat to passenger's seat so that I could exit via the passenger door. Probably an unusual situation, but had there been no gap in front of my console it would have been harder to get out. And for a person with any sort of mobility impairment ... they would have been trapped!

With new EVs coming out in the next year with Tesla’s new batteries and Toyota’s new Solid State batteries, I’m holding out.

Well, that was disappointing from the get go! NOT a 2022, its listed as a 2023 (since it won't be out until July).

Very interesting video! The Toyota bZ4X looks great. It appears to have been well thought out in terms of practicality and space. 🚗 ⚡️

Has this the promised solid state batteries? Lighter and faster charging. I still think the hybrid Toyota's are the best option.

It's meant to have enough performance, room, durability for people to have an electric alternative to the RAV4. People expecting some styling exercise per Kia or Hyundai aren't seeing the why of this vehicle. And it's fast enough. Toyota's research says frunks don't matter. The only thing I don't like is the piano black on the interior. Otherwise, it looks like a Toyota inside. And the one thing this has over other "crossovers" is this actually has Subaru's 4-wheel drive and can go offroad or at least will feel quite awesome in terrible weather. That's a big plus. Those talking about range and acceleration, most EVs have excessive acceleration and you don't buy cars based on stats. You should buy them based on feel and experience as numbers don't tell the whole story. The range is good enough for how most people use EVs and this is a true Toyota enhanced by Subaru's 4wd, arguably the best in the industry.
