This scenes is ingenious. The demon basically possessed her so slowly she didn't realize it first. Indicates how evil and sadistic they truly are.

That shot where Cheryl turns around to reveal her deadite form is a pretty scary shot actually. Felt very chilling

I was fortunate enough to meet Bruce Campbell and he was amazing. He signed my book and I requested he wrote 'truly amazing' in it and explained it was part of my favourite scene and he said hes never been asked to write that down! 😂

This is the scene that blew my mind when I first watched this movie when it came out. It will always be one of my favorite scenes from a horror movie.

Its scary because she suddenly got possesed without anyone noticing. I mean, she didnt even make a peep and I dont think anyone would have noticed had she not turned around and started talking

My favorite scene in the trilogy. Excellent writing of the Demon. She just sounds so scary. I like that the demon knows her cards and suits. Like, gambling is a biblical sin and who would know sin better than a demon? Just adds a level of depth to it for me.

Also a great bit of acting with the cards. I'll explain.
"Queen . . of spades." *Sheryl is confused/scared that she can see the card.*
"Four of hearts." *Halfway through this line, the demon takes over.*
"Eight of spades." *You can hear the rage of the Demon creeping into her voice!*
"Two spades, Jack of diamonds, JACK OF CLUBS *Fucking demon rage!*

10/10 will watch on repeat

This movie is severely underrated as a horror movie. Extremely well done in instilling terror and a feeling of impending doom in the viewer.

Notice how when Cheryl started guessing the cards correctly her voice gets louder and angrier before the reveal. But she was already possessed as soon as she started saying what the cards were. And you can tell when she first starts doing it she sounds scared like how am I doing this? What’s happening to me? Like she knew something bad was going to happen to her.

When Ash said, "Yeah, truly amazing", I felt that.

Last night I tried watching The Evil Dead with my mom, and when this scene came on, she BEGGED ME to turn it off! She yelled “I’m going to cry if you don’t change this NOW!” I watched _a lot_ of horror movies with my mom but I never saw her so terrified of a movie like this. Her reaction was unbelievable. She was completely disturbed! Lol. I love this movie and the sequels but damn, this scene alone traumatized my mom!

Cheryl is my favorite character in this movie. I love her so much. Ellen Sandweiss does a good job portraying her which is why she inspired me to love this movie.

I still have PTSD from watching this in the theatre as a 13 year old. I had nightmares after for twenty years or so.
