The thing that i truly love about this movie is the fact that we have your sterotypical horror characters but instead of simply killing them, they tore them to pieces. When you cheer on the demons in a film like evil dead, youve done youre job.

The director or producer was Campbell. The protagonist of the original. He along with his ability to choose the right actors was the main reason why this remake was a total success. It’s quite hard to make a remake, especially when the original was a classic.

I really enjoyed this remake. Stephen King once said that with the original, Sam Raimi caught lightning in a bottle. Fede's remake got close enough to burn the bottle black. Well played, gentlemen. Well played. 🖤

This is what a good remake should be. Using the same plot, but with just enough changes in the story, characters, effects, and ending to make it it's own thing.

I'm not saying it's better than the original trilogy, but it's enough to be a talking point of the franchise.

I watched this for the first time alone in my basement in 2015, never saw the originals before that. It is my all time favorite scary movie and it just hits me so deep and has a bigger meaning than your typical demon/slasher film.
Jane Levy is amazing and there are really wholesome moments. Sobriety, and the struggles with inner demons and believing yourself when everyone else thinks you are crazy. The necklace her brother gave her didnt give her strong will because she always had it in her❤

If you have a surround sound system. Turn it up and play this movie all by yourself on a Saturday night. With some choice weed and a 6 pack of some local brewed IPA. Awesome! Still one of the best horror films ever made or remade. IMO.

the new one is fine it is balanced its just like the classic evil dead franchise mixed with horror and a bit comedy. But for me this Evil Dead 2013 is far more gorier, bloodier and scarier and keeps in the edge of your seat.
